Dose anyon else watch this show?  It's on the British Broadcasting Channel.  It's been described as Jackass with cars.  A 47' long limo.   :roflsmiley:

It's the best car show ever if you like sports cars. Granted, not every episode features interesting cars but they do have fun at it.

Don't mind it but I can't stand Jeremy Clarkson, grumpy pommy git if you ask me. The show is borderline car testing. It's more like him complaining that the car's interior is like his dressing gown. More for family IMO. While crashing a Hilux, racing a jet fighter, getting inbreds pi$$ed off, making a car into a lounge and letting celebrities drive around a track may be good "holsum" fun for some, it isn't what I'd consider a car show.

If I want to here lame jokes from Jeremy "Mr know it all" Clarkson I'll watch MTV, if I want real professional car comparisons and tests about the actually car and it's mechanicals I'll watch 5th Gear and Tiff Neddle. A former LeMans driver with skills to burn.  ;)

Don't blame poor Jeremy; he can't help he's a Frenchman born in the wrong country.  For me this show is comic relief showing just how close-minded and snot-brained BBC thinks its audience is.

The considerable lack of technical savvy and obvious ignorance of important aspects of vehicle history and performance is just more of the same.  But its over the top and funny.

At first I'd get annoyed at the America (and American car) bashing... but really, annoyance meant lending credence to their statements, and their credentials.  Now... its consider the source, kind of like a overdosed ricer whining about legroom and towing capacity.  They can't have it so they pan it.  Twits.

After all, my starter motor has more power than the Fiat Panda limo the twit built!  Better bearings too (from how long it takes to spin back down!)

You can't take Top Gear too seriously.  A lot of it is done for a laugh.  The only thing I don't like about Clarkson is his Porsche bashing but then his cohort beats him up about his Ferrari problems just to keep things in check.  By the way, Clarkson loved the Viper.  Tiff is great too.  He drives the crap out of the cars and knows how to.  There is no American show that comes close.

I record it every Monday night.  I was very disappointed when it went off the air earlier this year.  I just take it for what it is, an entertaining hour of mindless TV where they often times drive fast cars out of control.  I don't really consider it a car show in the manner of Car and Driver or Motor Trend, etc, but just pure entertainment.

That's not true, cowboy, I just saw the episode where they take "race" versions of the Porsche, Lambo Gallardo, and Aston Martin DB9 through the swiss alps.  The DB9 was hands down the worst car in the line up, but even more importantly, they slammed all three manufacturers for charging 50K MORE for a car with 30% LESS features than the standard models.  I think it's a hilarious show, and yes matt63, I have not seen much else that is as thorough with regard to performance, price, comfort...except maybe for Auto Week, and much of the time that show stinks like paid advertising... and don't get me started on the PowerBlock.

Powerblock =  :puke:

Finish the Challenger already.  Mopar must not be paying them enough for advertising.

As was said by others, I enjoy Top Gear for mindless entertainment (47 foot long limo!).  Powerblock is annoying at best.  I love watching Musclecar because of Lou (the guy is insane), but finish a car already!  I also don't like how they don't show new shows consistantly.  I know it takes time to make a show for every week, but there are lots of other shows that are able to!
