    Challenger_7...That's interesting  :clueless:  I would have figured that all 71's would have had the vapor control systems installed at the factory.  Maybe that pic you posted with the cylinder hooked up to your fuel system is a retrofit of some sort.  It looks like your wheelwell and trunk hinges are also different.  Must be variations for the convertible  :dunno:

    Progress has been slow, but I've got an update.  Finished putting together the back end of the car (mostly).  Just need to get a gas filler tube-to-body gasket that fits (the one's from YearOne DO NOT  :swear:) and mount the TA spoiler.  Having some fit problems with the aftermarket bumper and valence OR the car had a fender-bender in the left-rear that is causing some alienment issues.  The valence's fit really is poor and the at rear quarters there is a buldge that I can't smooth out.   Will need to go back and try to resolve, but I burned out working on it for now.  You can see where the driver side support for the bumperette is exposed, where the passenger side is properly hidden.  To get the bumperetts to rest properly on the bumper, I needed to drop the mounting bracket a bit, so the mount really can't be moved back.  Not sure how to deal with this at the moment.  :clueless:  Anyway, decided to move forward for now and attack this later.  Still looks pretty sharp for this stage of the game.  BTW, the pic that shows a red line and irregular marks on the bumper is actually a reflection of an extension cord and plastic on my garage floor!

    At first glance i thought that first picture was a big hole  :22yikes: but realised it was the bumper....................... Man that has some killer shine. :bigshades:

    Still moving along is more than nothing. :grinyes:

    I'd tell you the name of the exhaust tip manufacturer, but I can't read Chinese  :bigsmile:  They are repros so hopefully they won't turn green after the first test drive!  I needed 2.5" diameter tips and found them 18 months ago on eBay.  Unfortuately the rear needed several repro parts and it will show  :(  Things are much better up front.

    Picked up the rear valance panel from an eBay vendor named Adealsap (adealsap@aol.com).  Bought that back in July of 2006 so I'm not sure if he's still around.  As you can see I've been collecting parts for a couple years now  :faint:

    They do look great but to me they are a bit too....hmm how shall I say it, fat, wide, large or what :dunno: Anyway, the distance from up to down seems bigger than on mine, which are originals. I will take some measurements when next at the body shop, but all in all, they look great.
    And man, as some have already mentioned, I had a tough time figuring your photos out, sooooooo much shine it is simply amazing :clapping: Keep it up buddy.
    I willcheck out the funny contraptions under my car to see if they have anything to do with venting seeing I do not have a vent tube. Cheers.

    Challenger_7, they may indeed be a bit larger than factory originals because they fit the 2.5" O.D. exhaust pipe, but I haven't done a side-by-side.  They fit in the valance cutout fine and looks plenty good to me  ;D

    Absolutely right, they look great. In fact they have a smoother contour than the originals :thumbsup:
    BY the way, do you know of someone who sells the sheet metal parts that cover the areas around the tires on the fenders rather than having to replace the whole quarter panels. My convertible has been worked on in that area and can use new sections there? Thanks

    Challenger_7 (sorry i cant remember everyones name) i do not know of anyone that repros the outer wheel lip only. i would suggest buying whole qtrs i suppose. remember to trim back the lip that folds under (trunk extension spot welds there) they make em too wide.
