Challenger_7 (sorry i cant remember everyones name) i do not know of anyone that repros the outer wheel lip only. i would suggest buying whole qtrs i suppose. remember to trim back the lip that folds under (trunk extension spot welds there) they make em too wide.
Thanks buddy, and no sweat about names. Actually many prefer not to use them. As for me, it is easy of you want to, just remember the name of the last King of Egypt....Farouk :roflsmiley:
Mind you, that might be a point of reference for us in the Middle East but not necessarily to you ::)
I contacted Year One and they have front and rear portions of the lip inclusive of sections of the panel, but not all of it, so I suppose I will have to go for the quarter panels. Thanks again.

Moving forward one step at a time.  Got the surface rust cleaned off the firewall (from behind the heater box) and put a coat of POR-15 on the entire upper wall.  Then reinstalled the insulation.  I know it should have come off before the car was painted, but I got lazy and ran out of time.  :-[ Cleaned the heater/AC box and painted it.  Decided to take the heater core in to be pressure tested sometime next week just to be sure  :smokin:  Went back to the bumperette support on the rear that was not fitting properly in the valance and just took the wedge spacer out and lowered the bracket down a bit more.  Worked great and it looks much better.  I put on the rear wheels and got the back off of the jack stands today.  Another step towards the end goal  :thumbsup:

The inside cleaned up nice :biggrin:

The fit and finish of the valance panel and tose pipes are sitting so sweeeeeeeet in their holes.  :drool: Keep up the great work. :woohoo:

You sure that car aint Blue, all these pics are looking bluer and bluer. :picture:

Must be the internals of your shed doing it. :smilielol:

one tip (haha, get it?) about you tips, i had a problem once where mine were too close to the valance and would vibrate off of it. just be sure you have a good solid exhaust hanger toward the back. this car is amazing!

Thanks for the encouragement, it's appreciated.  Getting honest pics of an A4 car is tough.  Lighting is a major factor and all the pics that are "bluish" are when the garage door is open using indirect natural light.  Direct natural light and, oddly enough, flurosent light give a truer color.  Trust me, it's A4!

Wally, I wondered the same thing about a vibration problem.  Once the exhaust is acutally hooked up to the headers it will drop the tips down a bit and give more room in the valance.  The front of the exhaust pipe is currently unsupported.  It should be O.K., but that will be one of the 1001 things to check at first start up!  :eek4:

 :bigsmile: yep, that first little while after the car is on the road will test you for sure. the best part is when there are so many nuts and bolts and you overlook something. still, this car is simply beautiful!! and you dont even have the resources we have here in the states (not to take away, im talking parts/ cost, that sort of thing) i think you have us all looking for a 2nd eBody to paint this color......  :bigshades:

POR-15 is great stuff. It's tough and flexible, but expensive.  I've used it on my entire suspension, differential, engine block, K-member, floor and truck pans and firewall for rust protection.  The paint is best to spray on if you have a sprayer, but it brushes on O.K. with a decent brush.  HOWEVER, any tools, brushes etc it touches is wasted if the paint dries.  Man...do not let this stuff dry somewhere on the car you don't want it!  You must wear lots of skin protection because if it dries on your skin the only way to get it off is skin removal  ;)   Really, it takes several days of scrubbing with a scrubbing block before it comes off.  A hot tank could not remove it from my block!  It also has lots of VOC's so you need to paint in a well ventilated area...or kill a few braincells (I've killed a few that's for sure  :eek4:) It's nuclear paint  :2thumbs:

Wally, Year One has them. But should'nt there be something else attached to the flipping part which when closed will press the tank cover onto the filler tube? I will check my cars.
