    Equally so, thumbs up for the patient wife :ylsuper:
    From across the continents, I cannot but share with you this moment of joy, and confirm that I too have been following it up all the way, but without much chance to comment frequently.
    One thing though, you keep referring to the 833 engine rather than the 383, unless I am missing something there :wave:
    Alas, mine is a sadder story, car fully stripped and sitting down for the past 3 months, waiting for a reliable painter to take the job on :pullinghair:
    I have been promised some action by one reliable firm who own their own sparay booth, but still waiting.
    In the meaantime, I entered a race in one of my other 71 Challengers, and came out third. Will make a new post soon about it.
    Enjoy your car, and may you ride many safe and trouble free miles.

    Thanks everyone once again for all the support  :2thumbs:  I'm pretty excited to have this car finished and can't believe the keys are hanging on my wall  :cooldancing:  Farouk, the 833 is referring to the 4-speed transmission (A-833), but the car does have a 383 cu in engine.  Hope you can find a good paint shop soon.  I know they are not easy to find over here!  Good luck

    Looks like this thread was resurected  :smokin:  Thanks for the kind words.  Since I posted last I've had a few post-restoration road bumps  :faint:  At 230 miles my pinion gear committed sucide and trashed the rear end.  One of the few parts of this car I did not touch and look what happened!  It now has a rebuilt 3.55 Suregrip.  Next, the new Smiths aluminum radiator got a leak at a weld.  Unfortunately, Smiths Radiator has no real customer service and they are not returning calls, emails, or faxes for warranty repair.  :villagers: Well, they can take a flying leap and I'm getting it fixed locally (figured even if I did get them to take it back, that could be the last I ever see it).  Here's a pic of the leak from a weld right on top.  You won't see me recommending Smith Radiators out of Cambridge City, IN.  :puke:  Then, a leak formed in the drivers side header that I had ceramic coated  :violin: Guess that's what I get for trying to 'doll-up' a used set of old headers.  Santa came early and dropped off a set of TTi's for Christmas so that helps ease the pain.  So you can see I'm workin out some bugs and restoration never stops.  :money: Anyway, if you guys would like to see a separate thread on the TTi header install with lots of pics, I could do that.

    Sorry you had the troubles. Looks like you have them sorted out though.  :2thumbs:  I would love to see an install thread on the TTI's. Love the headers but hate that huge price  :eek4:  Seeing as how my headers are prone to rubbing the inner fender I might have to get a new pair as well. Yours is easily one of my favorite cars on here   :burnout:

    The TTi's are expensive no doubt!  However, based on past experience with my Charger's TTI's they are top notch quality and have excellent fit and that's what it's all about with headers.  I didn't hesitate to get them for this Challenger.  :drool:  As far as working out bugs, I guess that will happen with every restoration, but I thought that the spending was basically over....NOT!  :eek7: I'll go ahead and start up a thread for the new TTi install when I get to it over the Christmas holiday.  Should be interesting if all goes well  :grinyes:

    Can't believe it passed a pressure test so either it never had one or their QA is so poor they just passed it on.  I could forgive and forget if they would have been proactive and willing to take care of their customer because the radiator does perform well.  But ignoring the customer and dodging warranty work is not the way to build a good reputation.  I gave Smith Radiators a chance and they blew it.  :swear:
