I would like to say something to our members
« on: November 23, 2007 - 09:24:48 PM »
I don't usually offer my things forsale. But here lately, I have been letting some smaller things go to help out.  If my things seems cheaper then normal prices, it's only because I am helping out members only to some degree in fair prices.

It is for this reason you see members only in my adds.  I got burnt recently on about 2k in parts selling from here in my emails and them not being members. We learn from our mistakes. And most everyone that knows me or has dealings with me usually finds out that it's more profitable for them if they hang around all the time instead of burning me one time. I dont have a value on parts.  And I dont have a set price either. If I tell you something, keep me at my word. My short term memory is failing along with my vision since I have a sugar problem now. Can't seem to get it under control and it's affecting my work and bothering my family.

At any rate, if i got something you need, ask me without emails. I dont mind too much about getting burned on the parts, but my time and fuel and the cost of shipping keeps me from doing more for my family and friends.

If this post seems a bit off, I guess I'm having one of my moments.

Oh , and Jacksboys--- I am letting you have the /6 and trans along with the k member out of the challenger. But the k member is 75 bucks , the rest is a gift. I will be pulling it out for you maybe after christmas or early spring when I got to get my race car and bring it home.   I figured you would wnat an original e body /6 set up radiator and all if it's still in the car.

I am so sorry you got burnt, that isn't fair any way you look at it.  It always seems to happen to the good people too.  I hope you can soon get your sugar problem under control.  I'll be keeping you in my prayers!

I think you are one stand up guy and enjoyed meeting you and your wife when you came down to MS to pick up the 340. I hope you were able to locate some rods WITH caps since the ones that were pressed on the pistons didn't have caps. I felt bad for not catching that before you came down. I wasn't looking to get one over on you. I don't think you felt that way. That's kinda why I let those Chally door panels go at a fair price. My way of making up for the rod caps.
I don't think this is what you're talking about but I appreciate your style and it's a shame people try to take advantage of the good guy.

Its kind of weird everyday when I get on this site how you see certain members that you instantly recognize certain members name ! almost like they are family or something and you are certainly one of those names I look forward to reading what you post!!! along with chyrco , cuda guy , oldschool, 440cuda ,jackboys ,NZ or whatever he is right now, 4cruizin and MEK sticks out the most to me.... even though I dont like MEK  :poopoke: cause he picks on female members here all the time like aprilspink72cuda  anyway you just seem like uncle moparal to me.... make sense  :working:

The one place I go play bingo sometimes has a big board of names of people who writes bad check on there... maybe we could have something like that here!!! like a bad post board or something ??? and make MEK the moderator for that!  :stirpot:  :poopoke:

WOW...Thank You very much Alan.  Take as long as you need, I know you are a very busy man.

I am also sorry to hear about your trouble with the others.  I have always enjoyed reading your posts, and I wish I had some of the cuda parts you needed, so I could return the favor.

If you need anything, let me know, I will help if I can.   :2thumbs:

I hate hearing that(you getting burned)Because I think of you as my bestest internet buddy. But it does bring up a good point----Be very careful on the internet,I have been real lucky. And that is one of the reasons I haven't shown much of my latest cars---Just an example--3 weeks ago a guy showed up at my house determined to buy my car,I still don't know how he even knew I had it?he tried for 3 hours to get me to sell it,but never told me how he found out I had it.I was very careful about bringing it home and hiding it in the garage and keeping the door shut,or when the door was open I had a piece a plywood in front of it.I am going hunting today to find those parts you need.

I think that is what we all fear, being taken on an internet deal. I also have been blessed when it comes to making deals with moparites. I hope your health problem clears up and somewhere down the line you get a great deal that will offset the "burn"

Sorry to hear the negitive news about your sold parts Al. I'm sure you realize this although it dosen't for the moment change the shafting you took. The old expression "What goes around, comes around".........well I feel that also works and is true in the positive sense. Good deeds and honesty do not go unrewarded, someday your sincerity and honesty will "return" to you in some form. Me and a friend also have had some misfortune,...............someone broke into his garage and helped themselves to a few motors and trannys, but they left his engine hoist. Probably didn't have room on the trailer, I say trailer because too much to fit in a truck. The police have a good lead because of his "nosy" neighbor.

Sorry for you problems Al. No matter where you are or what you do there is always going to be some As------ that are looking to screw somebody. I have known many people that have gone from all around great guys to being real bast---- because they just got tired of being taken advantage of. I really don't blame you. I also will pray for your health to improve.

Hey Alan,

i have got burt many times in the past also.  I am sorry you got burnt.   I always look on here and trust most everyone on here.  I would do the same with parts that I have.  I don't have the parts that I used to have anymore.  I was always lucky getting e body parts.   Where I grew up most of the guys were gm guys so they gave me parts or at a very very reasonable price.  I am going to get mine done as soon as I can and will need direction on getting it done.  I have done several of them in the past but with having the M46 Barracuda it is a horse of a different color.   I will keep you in my prayers also with all of your problems.  That is the least that we can do for you.

Thanks for all the nice comments friends. I was just in a moment last night and felt I needed to explain some of my sale posts.  And I got to say that no members here have done me any wrong. It was people looking at our sight and then e mailing me wanting parts. Since I seem to be a work aholic, I have a tendency to ship parts out before most pay cause I only have a small space in time to help out with peoples projects. And now I forget what I sent.  I still have a large stack of license plates to send to Barry I keep seeing piled up, I dug up some marker light stuff for doug, but don't have the exact one he needs, but have other pieces he may want in the future,I find things for cudahunter all the time and feel compulsed to just buy them and send them to him and haven't even seen him in person as of yet. Don't be confused by his sig pic, he's not a snake charmer. The cuda guy's car? Well where that car came from is a ray barton 528 injected hemi 70 cuda and he wants to take a 50 or 60k loss on it and sell it for them. So we see people like member uthustler looking and posting then gone, shawnkind posting and getting flack about his cars and selling then gone but I see he still is active on the bay, but doesnt come around to chat. Since I go nation wide, I find more deals then most and my mind gets all cluttered up trying to remember who wants what. It's a harder job than most realize trying to remember who wants or needs what and where it's at.

Dealing with sugar is getting tuff on me. I was told it was very high and I was going to have to take shots or pills. I chose a crash diet. Now I go get a physical for work and the doc says I have no sugar. So now I get dizzy and start falling down and almost blacking out. So of course my wife gets scared since I do what most consider a dangerous job. So during Christmas break, I may have to go to the doc and see what's good for me.  Never have taken time to focus on me before. I always thought I existed in life to help others.

Sorry about rambling on. Stoker, I will look at where I put those chips and dig them up for you. When I get down to my other place, I was thinking about bringing some items back to help out on the numbers game people. And yes at one time I did own close to 200 mopar cars all at the same time. It took years of collecting them. It was close to an interstate and people started stealing my stuff, major stuff, so I let yearone and some other groups get the dash pads and stuff, then opened the gate and let any friend I knew come and take whatever they wanted to fix their cars. Be it dana's ,four speeds, wings ,dual points , it didnt matter. So I am down to a few items only. Oops there I go again. And I got to take the family on a big shopping trip today, they are waiting. I told them everything is on me today and I hate malls and stores. There are so many people in them I can feel most of there thoughts and I panic, so I am just giving the cards to the kids and hiding in the car...lol

Hi Al,

First off, thank you for sharing your feelings and health issues with us. I think you did the right thing in getting these off of your chest.
I agree with StRoKer that it does feel like family here. I am a new guy, but it didn't take long to get to know and enjoy reading other's posts. I am looking forward to meeting with some of the members at Carlisle next year.

I hope very soon your health becomes under control. You have already and will continue to be in my prayers.

As far as car parts and con artists, it really is a shame to think people take the time to plot and scheme on how to rip other's off. They obviously have no conscious.

Take care,

Slotts
