Car prices continue to slide???
« on: November 24, 2007 - 12:41:14 PM »
It seems that car prices are still falling. Anyone else seeing this as well? Look at the 1970 GTX V code for $30k - I know it is burnt orange (no offence to all you FK5 lovers) but this car seems cheap to me. I have also seen some good deals on e-bodys lately as well. I don't need another car but I guess I should start looking for deals.

:roflsmiley: It does feel that way sometime. I am not overly worried about the prices just trying to figure out if it makes sense to buy some investment cars now.

It seems to be that way.   I hope to be able to do that in the next year or so.
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

I have been trying to figure out if buying another car is the thing to do while prices are down as I think they will go back up. Money is so tight right now that I think I'll wait awhile and try to figure out the economy .

...1985 - 1990, prices skyrocketed.....then they were cool for a decade....then they went wild for 5 more years....will it take a decade again, who knows....I'm glad to see the market soften, mine are worth less, but I can buy more...I'm not planning on selling them anytime soon if ever, so market price is irrelevant to me except as a buyer...

...I still don't see much decrease in primo cars, but the clones and lesser desireables will take a beating for quite a few years....my advice has always been to buy what you like, so if the market goes down you don't really care anyway...

Is it me or does that burnt orange one in the first post have some sort of funny looking rear quarters? Looking at them 3/4 perspective they seem a bit 'off' as if the car was rear ended at one point and repaired poorly?

Also the rust in the wheel well should be an indicator of the condition of the metal under that fresh paint. May be why its so "cheap"

Caution....

It's not a primo resto, I am sure that is what is keeping the bidding low for now.

I don't know that I'd say prices are sliding so much as they aren't advancing as rapidly or have stopped advancing.
