Please forgive me but whats all the hype about an M46? Its just looks like a piece of plastic scoop thingy that has no function. The aesthetics of it are hardly noticeable as well.
Can someone enlighten me?

Most folks are not even aware of this option. Five members here own them, so the topic comes up fairly often.

When you see one in person with the blackout & side scoup is very noticeable. Yea like most of the do-dads on these cars not functional but I assure you if you had one you'd be interested.

It took me around 4 years to find one.  Mine is beat to death by rust. 
Found another one but it didn't have a fender tag or build sheet so I let it slip away. :violin:

In my opinion Scoops of any kind are cool.  These are the only scoops you could get on a barracuda so that really turns my crank with ebodies.  Hood scoops aside.

Yeah I know what ya mean.   Kinda like a grand coupe.  Some like em and some dont.  I dont like the grd Cp's   It's just a package as well with options.  They are more heavier too.   Either way, for every car made, someone is already looking for it somewhere :2thumbs:    I think it's great mopar made such a wide variety to choose from.  All the same body with many trim codes and engine sizes.

I know wht you mean, i dont like GC's either but not for the same reasons, they mostly had 318 or /6, luckily mine is a BB and i love leather.

no, I have owned a few gc's,  I just never cared for them.  They can be had easy enough, I drove to Louisiana to buy a 70 GC body, but it wasn/t rust free, and he wanted 2k for the body,this was just before I found this rust free body. and im not bashing you.  They are a heavy car, made heavy with all the bling. Thats why they are a BP package.  I like em light and no a/c or extra wireing hastles.  Just pointed out that every car is a barracuda in the begining, just like a challenger is all the same body.    I dont knock anyones car or try to belittle anyone. Sorry you took it that way.  If we were talkin face to face, then you could see my words as I spoke.  I never can say things how I mean to and not really good at the smiley things either.  Seems were both content on what we have to some degree. you are prob more.  I didnt realize my car was what it is. I bought it for a street pounder, then found out what I had later again by Barry.  I am not attached to this car since I cant get it light enough or poke holes in it.  Mine will be gone soon, or I will find another body to do what i need to do. My car now is of just a few left that can be seen as what is was when new. There just isnt any around. So this is why it is going to stay like it is, so you can look at it instead of pictures in books. 


It is on jack stands right now with a 500 cube engine in it and a 4 spd with a dana.  Im installing a lighter AAR hood this week, leaf spring relocation kit, 2 inch headers and aluminum water pump housing.  All bolt on parts to make it lighter. Even the 6pk on it is aluminum.  I can't go much further without tieing sub frames, cages, fuel cells and stuff, so it is getting boring to me. I do have the 318 on an engine stand tho, and all the factory stuff to bolt it back together in a few months.

I like the M46 option, is cool but i wouldnt buy one just for that option

Agreed. afterall a baracuda or chally are rare for sure, It shouldnt matter whats under the hood

I still think my all time favorite car is a 70 Gran Coupe convertible with air, power top, rubber bumpers, 383 and a 4 speed. Lemon Twist with white top and interior, pretty much perfection for me personally.
