Early versions of the parts manual also show the pinstripes available in blue & white. Not sure if it was ever offered that way or not.

Crap, I voted yes, but then I saw that you meant a restored one.

This one is a local car. I wish I would have checked out the fender tag closer. But it sure looks like the scoops are original with the paint. But there is no presence of black paint on the bottom.

Sort of like the picture of the yellow car posted above..... :sly:

The other pic that culvers posted looks like it might be the same car or at least a convertible too. If you look close the trim above the bodyline looks to have the snaps in it like a convertible would have for the boot cover. I cannot see enough of the roof to tell for sure but it has the same painted mirrors and might possibly be the same car earlier in its life.

I'd like to see where Culvers got that picture. The car I saw is in Delaware and had Maryland plates as its last registration. I thought it odd that it did not have the black out and looked original. I should have took a picture of the fender tag. The owner thought it was a dealer installed option. But I thought he may have said that because he just didn't know that it was a infrequently used factory option. I did go into the directory in which Culvers picture is stored and found a picture of my old B7 RT  :) But didn't see any other M46 pics.  :-[

Hmmm...wonder why?  :roflsmiley:

I can kind of imagine you car with that black out treatment by the rockers.  My car had that done by the original owner.  I like it, it makes the car a little thinner looking IMO.

Do you have any pictures of what your car looks like upclose?

Mine will be the Limon Twist with the blacked out on the bottom with a Black vinyl top and black interior.  I think that it will look really cool that way.
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

It is not funtional.  It is just for looks is all.  On the red car the black on the bottom is not the correct color it has too gloss to it.

I didn't know the option existed until I read something about it in one of 'Cuda Hunter's threads.  That's a way cool option.  I imagine finding that air dam has to be darn near impossible.

You know it is very likely that the one I saw with no blackout and black scoops might just be dealer equipped. It might just account for the several cars that do not have the blackout but have the scoops.

that could have been when I worked at a cpd in the 70's we put on several things just not the scoopes.  It would be good  to know if it was an option to not to paint the bottom.
