Update on the R/T SE
« on: January 28, 2004 - 11:10:55 AM »
When we last left off with our story...we had just taken off the front suspension (to clean up), and lowered the engine onto the k-frame.

We've been working every night, but had a few delays.. (compressor died, etc.).  Here's what we've done.

Cleaned and painted all the front suspension pieces.
Cleaned, sanded and repainted the entire bottom of the car.
Removed, cleaned and repainted the rear-end.
Repainted the trunk.

--  from here, I think we're actually moving forward instead of cleaning up from 2 years outside.

Installed the front to rear brake and fuel lines (thanks for the tip on doing that first...great help!)
Installed the rear-end.
Installed the gas tank with pad.

Hear are some pics...

LB, in answer to your question....vewwy, vewwy cawfuwy.  Actually we used our engine hoist and our floor jack with some downhome southern ingenuity.  It made sanding under there tolerable.

Tim...thanks for the kind words of encouragement!!

Chryco, thanks for the heads-up.  Hopefully the car won't be up there very long.  Hubby figured that each set of blocks could hold up to 2000 lbs.  But, now, we may put in a back-up plan since we will be under there a lot in the near future.  Better safe than very, very sorry!
