Looking for wheel/tire set-up pics

I've thumbed through this thread, but I'm having a hard time seeing a lot of the pics because the posts are old.  Does anyone have some pics of the following set up, this is going on my 72 Cuda.

8 3/4 SG stock rear end.  1" over on the rear springs

15x8" Rallyes Rear with 275/60 BFGoodrich Radial T/As
15x7" Rallyes Front with 245/60 BFGoodrich Radial T/As

 Hey fish, I sent you some pictures, I forgot to mention they are 8" on rear  ,with a 4 1/2" backspace, and 6" on front. The tires are 275x60 on rear and 215x60 on front, John

Hey, yup, sure do. Everything is completely stock. Well, I tell a little lie I have Edelbrock IAS Performer shocks on all fours but apart from that she is factory. Heaps of clearance. The combo in question in my opinion is the best run of the mill no hassle, no mods combo. Plenty of people run it and for good reason, everything fits, nice overall height (28" tire) so the bum sits up vs the 26-3/4" 295/50 tires. The rear shot directly from behind at the river (1st photo), Lucy is parked on a lean (ie: uneven ground) lol, it's not the car but you get the idea.

I've already moved my springs in with the Dr Diff hangers.  I'm leaning towards the same Bullit rims Goody has.
Need to wait until after the holidays to let the dust settle with finances.

Are there different widths of the Rally wheels available? I thought since these were the stock wheels, they only came in one size. My car for example has 235/60/15 front and 255/60/15 rear on the stock Rallys. I wonder if i could just put on Lucy's setup with 245 front and 275 rear, or if a had to get wider Rallys.

Although it would work out better if you swapped the rear wheels to the 8 inch wide ones, that tire combo will work with the stock 7 inch wheels, and lots of guys have run it with no problems.

Do you know what is the widest 15" rim i can get on a 8 3/4 rear without modifications and what bs do i need?

Could i use 9s or 10s with proper bs (4 1/2 i guess) without moving the springs inward? I read in another thread that the handling should improve dramaticly when 275 rubbers are driven on 10s, over 275s on 8s. Also they don't look nearly as wide on 8" rims. So my ideal setup would be to keep the front as it is and go for 10s with 275/60/15 or 275/50/15 rubbers in the back.

Only thing is - i don't want the tires to rub. EVER. I had that on my Firebird before and it was just annyoing, especially when there were passengers sitting in the back.

You can run a 15x10" rim on a stock E-Body. I put 275/60s on a 15x10" cop rim on my 'Cuda. The back spacing was 5-1/2" and it fit. Just. It was close but nothing to worry about. No rubbing at all. Jegs or any reputable wheel shop sell the 56 series rallye wheel in that exact spec (15x10" 5.5" BS). It's as large as they go before you need to go custom. Worst case scenario you may have to trim 0.2" (2-3mm) off your wheel lip molding if you run them. But, you'll be fine.

Thanks for that info. I've seen on your website that your 'Cuda is still under restoration. Did you ever drive her with this wheel setup on a bumby road or with passengers in the back? I'm just curious how well it handles tough conditions, bc i wouldn't want to compromise ride quality for looks alone.

Anyone else run this setup...

I'm 99% sure I won't get room for a 5,5 BS on my car...
And even with 5,5 BS I won't get room to the fender for a 10" rim...

But thats a Challenger, - is that the same as Cuda..

You're welcome. This was on my Dad's (previously my) 'Cuda. I did take it for a drive and there was no rubbing though it was only a short blat around the block a few times, no highway or undulating black top. However, you can get what you need to know on a short drive on a public roads. It either rubs & hits or it doesn't, simple as that.

If it fits which it will and doesn't rub I'm pretty sure ride quality will be equal however traction maybe better as you have more meat on the ground with a bigger diameter rim width. I'd say you wouldn't "fell" the difference, maybe some minimal hundredth of a second on the track if anything. I should have taken a photo of it on, bugger! lol
