Biggest Rim / Tire combo....
« on: January 29, 2004 - 02:22:34 PM »
Anyone know what the biggest rim/tire combo I can run.......Im planning on 15*10 Weld Pro Stars and would have had the springs relocated as well to use the entire wheelwell.....
I currently run 275/60/15's on 8 inch rim with 4.5 backspace
what would be the perfect backspacing of the rim to stuff the whole wheelwell and tire size to use?

thx to all

I wrote this the other day,, in case you didn't see it
here it is again

the recipe that should fit everyones E-bodies

1962 to 1970 B-body (2 or 4 door) 8 3/4 rearend
That is a rearend that has a springseat of 44 inches
center to center and an overall length of 59.2 inches
from brake drum to brake drum

Dana 60's work well too

buy the 2 inch longer offset  spring hanger from Mopar

A-body Super Stock springs or equivalent

10 inch wide wheels with an offset of 5 1/2 inside and
4 1/2 outside

295 / 50s size tires on 15 inch wheels
275 / 60s look interesting too but the drivers side fender lip might need a quarter inch or so trim as
the outside of the tire is closer on that side .
You wouldn't want to shave off your white letters

Can anyone tell me a good tire size combination for front/ rear on a 1970 Barracuda. I am running 15x7 rims (Mopar ralleye's). Thanks!

Best tires for a 1970 Barracuda depend on what you want to do with it.  Are you going to throw it around a track like an AAR?  235/60's would work great.  For the strip?  You might want to go to 275's on the back with 8" wheels.

You're probably just looking for a cool look for cruises and such, right?  I've got the same 15x7 rallye wheels as you and have 215/60's on the front with 255/60's on back.  Looks good.  You really shouldn't go bigger than 255 width on 7" wheels.

Just looking for a cool look..Thats all! Thanks for the info. I will most likely use P255/60/15 on the rear and was considering P235/60/15 for the front. Any problems with the front fitting? Thanks!
