    Is a starter a starter?

    I need a starter for my 5.7.  Most of us know that no manual came behind the 5.7, but I put one behind it.  Will the starter from the automatic work on my manual tranny?  Thanks

    I don't see why not. They didn't ever make different starters for auto's and manual's, did they?

    I agree with Mike. :iagree:

    If anything, you'd want to make sure the starter has enough torque for what ever engine it's behind. :thumbsup:

     :iagree:  If there's no difference in the flexplate/flywheel diameter or # of teeth, I would think it work all the same.  :2cents:
