Getting fuel to my new engine....

Finally dropped the fresh 360 engine in my '72 Cuda last night. I've redone the gas tank, installed a new fuel line and was wondering if I should somehow get the fuel up to the pump before I try to fire the motor? I will fill the carb bowl, but figured that it may be a good idea to get the gas at least up to the pump before I crank it. The less I have to turn the motor the better since it has the assembly lube on the critical parts. Any ideas on this and if it is a good idea, HOW CAN I MAKE IT HAPPEN?

Any suggestions on how to get some fuel up to the pumb before I hit the go button?

Weird idea but you car disconnect the line at the pump and jack up the rear of the car a little to let gravity take it's course (take the gas cap off!) or you can suck it through with a pump, like a mity-vac or something.   

Would the additional cranks to get the fuel tot he pump make that much difference in a new engine?  Just curious...    When I put in my new tank it didn't take that long for the engine to start up.
