i get the same crap. I even had some white trash couple get into a fight in front of me about how I, the owner who built this car, didnt even know anything about old camaros. its a 71 Challenger thank you.  :clueless:

 :drunk:

i did once get a guy at the local Autozone tell me that if it werent for our cars, his wouldnt be here (a crossfire) that was cool.

how about all the people who dont even look over at it, i mean, im not cocky at all about having a Challenger; but i know when i catch a glimpse of another old mopar i freak. how come noone else cares??  :dunno:

1.  Is that a 70 ?

2.  Is it for sale ?

3.  Is that a Hemi/340/440/318 ?  I get 340 alot surprisngly ?  says 440 SIX PACK right on the hood though....

4.  How much did you pay for it ?    I still get it  now and then, but This question I got a A LOT when I drove the car home from Portland, OR to PHX. AZ.    The first 2 ppl I was honest with but then of course they proceeded to tell me how their cousin's neighbgor  just sold one for 1/2 that and it was purple and had a 454 Hemi in it....  blah blah blah....

So then I got wise, and to this day, if someone asks me how much I paid for the Challenger, I tell them ""4000$, the little old lady I bouhgt it from  just wanted her money back out of it, from when she bought it new in '69 and then put new tires and a battery in it in '84"".

Shuts em right up every time.

I have to give my girlfriend credit, she is quick. One day she drove the Challenger up to her store and as she was getting out of it some guy was getting out of his truck and asked if it belonged to her boyfriend. She said no, Why Are you driving your boyfriend's truck ??? She felt that the guy was implying that a girl couldn't own a musclecar and that pissed her off.

i usually get "nice car" or someone talking about the car that they had.
Usually i get
what year?
What motor (says right on the hood)
how fast is it (unknown just a street car)
Thats a nice shifter where did you get that (its a factory pistol grip)
Can i drive it (and the kid was serious)
Why dont you put some nice wheels on it (body colored dog dishes)
How many miles are on it (does that make it less of a car)
Does it have a hemi (nope)
Do you want to sell it (nope)
are you sure you dont want to sell it (yep)
Getting some sob story about how they had to sell their 72 cuda with a hemi that they bought new
You want to trade (nope)
When are you going to paint the car (why are you offering the money to do it )
I really dislike people that dont know what they are talking about but that one kid that comes up to me telling me how cool of a car and hopefully
keeping this hobby alive

By the way i have given a bunch of girls rides in my car and they all love when i do donuts in parking lots. Even my Girlfriend loves my car and she knows nothing about old cars. Something about a e body

I have been asked are you SURE it's a 74?

I have also been told that I know this guy who has one just like this near here blah, blah, blah and then to find out it's an early 70's Charger. (not even close)

Where did I buy it from?

Pulled into a Burger King once with my wife and a young girl in the window says that my car was sexy. My wife asks me what did she say and I calmed her down and told her she said the CAR honey the CAR was sexy.... :)

Someone that I know has a 70 convertiable Cuda and he followed his brother in law to the local BMW dealer because he was going to turn in his leased car or something like that. The thing is he brought the car into the parking lot of the dealership and all of the sales guys flocked around the car like bees to honey. It's funny how these old e-body cars get the attention they do so many years later. This friend of my says that while he is there at the dealer one of the sale guys asks does it have a hemi? The car plainly says 340 on the hood scoops. Their is always someone that has to say that even when they know the answer. Even after 30 plus years e-body cars bring out jealousy out in some people and they can't help but say something stupid. It's a testiment on what a great body design they have.

Hahahaha, I forgot a funny story.  The very first time I had my Cuda out by myself I had a man almost jump out of his truck window screaming "Holy Sh*t, a chick in a Mopar...Will you Marry Me?"  It sure was fun to come home and tell Joe about my Marriage proposal!

I usually get the " what year is that? " followed by the " is it for sale ? ". I generally answer the first question and laugh hysterically at the second :roflsmiley:
