BOSSEFI wins SEMA best engineered product award

I am building a 512 stroker from a 400 block using 440 source.
What do you guys think of using www.retrotekspeed.com
They have a 1200 cfm BOSSEFI for $2,600 which is self tuning.

That system is nice.  I was checking that system out when I read about it.  They are the ones with the throttle body that looks like a carb. That is an easy system to install and can be hidden to look stock. The wideband O-2 sensor is what makes them self tuning but the throttle body injection is still not as good as a port injected system.

TBI isn't bad. Many of the 80s cars had TBI. My big block Chally is port injected, with the other 2 small blocks, one will be port and the other will be tbi.

Is it really worth the extra cash and is it really that much better?

I am using the Edelbrock Pro-Flo EFI for the big block.  It is port injected and likes a cam that is more on the high vacuum at idle side.  It does not use a wide band O-2, so it is not self tuning.  I have the 550 hp version and it runs very well. With the narrow band sensor you are able to drive from sea level to high up in the mountains then down again without having to stop and change any jets. I was able to get 20-22 mpg with my 440 and overdrive tranny, on the 06 Power Tour. 

These days, Wide band is the way to go.  You could stay at wide open throttle all d ay long and the WB-O-2 doesn't just tell the computer if it is rich or lean, it tells it how much it is rich or lean.

72 Cuda, owned 25 years. 496, with ported Stage VI heads, .625 in solid roller, 254/258 at .050, 3500 stall, 3.91 rear. 850 Holley DP, Reverse manual valve body.

1999 Trans Am, LS1, heads, cam, headers, stall, etc! Love to surprise the rice rockets with this one. They seem so confident, then it's "what the heck just happened?"

i'm thinking about getting the dual quad set for the hemi...i ask them about big cams with less vaccum and they said this"Mike,

Our system is a system you can completely monitor with a laptop. Check engine lights are not needed. Large cams are just fine with our system also. The MAP readings are disregarded when vacuum is low and a new set of learning cell are used. Our system works fine with racing, pump and E85 – E10 fuels. Our system work great with all types of forced induction also.
