Anyone into old mopar street rods??
« on: December 12, 2007 - 05:43:36 PM »
I have had the strangest desire in the past few months to build an old mopar street rod. I keep talking myself out of it for now becasue I have to finish my Cuda first but I would love a 1933 or 1934 coupe with a new 6.1 hemi in it. The few I've looked at always have chevy drive lines.  :puke:  Anyone on here have any old rods??

I dont have any, but I saw a cool one on another forum.  It was like a '39 coupe with a dakota chassis and drivetrain under it.  I thought that if I had a rod, thats what it'd be like.  It had the 3.9 in it.  I'll look for a pic...

I saw a beautiful old Plymouth rod at a show this summer, but it had a bowtie in it.  I love this old truck though.

Those look great. Bigblock71, I could see the pics on the sweptline page - thanks. The black 34 looks super but I would have to have the fenders as I think they make the car.

I would love to do an old mopar hotrod but I have enough trouble getting my cuda finished on a budget. My freinds dad has a 41 Plymouth for sell that I have been debating about getting for a future project. Push it into the back yard and have it for when I retire? Here is a model of a 41 Ply. The others were from shows this summer. I like the ones that have all mopar drive trains in them.

I would love to have a 1955 Plymouth just because that was the year I was born.
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

My wife wants me to do an early 30s four door rod. I'd love to, but finding them costs decent bucks and the time to resurrect the ones that don't cost a fortune is kinda out of my reach at the moment.

This was mine until about 1-1/2 ago.  Had it for 4 years (which was almost a record for me).
I miss it  - which I don't say about many of my former cars.  I'll probably look to build another one someday soon.
