Forgotten Mopars
« on: December 12, 2007 - 07:24:29 PM »
Hey there,

I'm new here and thought I'd share a link to my website. The site is called Forgotten Mopars. I've been working on it for just over a year now. It has over 800 pictures and 96 pages of rotting Mopars. www.forgotten-mopars.piczo.com. Make sure you sign the guestbook ;). Also, if you have any pictures for my site, post em here or email me at cole_383@hotmail.com.

Thanks, Cody

Ryan, what is your problem? Yes, I did take pictures without asking....two years ago. That was my old site. The new site...all pictures were sent to me or I got permission to use them.

Two years is not that long ago to some of us...  :nono:

Ok, all good people should get a second chance... I'll give it a look...

But Ryan is a long time member on here, and has helped out many members as well. I don't think he would give so harsh of a warning without cause.

I'm a long time member on dodgecharger.com and moparts. But thats not the point, I credit everybody who sends in pics. I also ask permission to use them if somebody's posts them on the internet. Honestley, there is no point to posting that info about me using the pics without permission. I was 13 when that happened. I'm more wiser now and I dont do that anymore. So its basically a false warning. He said I tend to use pictures without permission....the way he put it makes it sound like I still do that. I dont. It should be "FYI, he used to use pictures without permission". Ok, rant off. Enjoy my site and dont forget to sign the guestbook

YOU DID IT LAST WEEK.  To another member.  Took his pictures, used them on your site without asking.

You tried to take my pictures and pass them off as your own.

I was fine after you took my pictures the first time, we worked it out, but now you took someone elses pictures without asking and used them without asking, again.  That's wrong, thankfully you got caught.

To use a picture on a site, you have to ask permission from the person who took the pictures to use it on their site.  All photographs are copyrighted.  By not asking for permission to use them he breaks that copyright and could get in trouble.

They are considered works of art, since "art" is a very vague idea.  Most anything can be considered art nowadays.

Cody tried to pass of my pictures as his own a few years ago.  Got caught, and because they were being used for a project with a company, I was told to send him a "cease and dissist email".  Which he did.

Then he took another members pictures without asking, got caught, and had to have them removed because he had not asked permission to use them.

Here are a few websites on copyright law.

Ryan, I credited him AND I asked him but never got a reply. I put right under the pics "(the guys username) posted these on Moparts.com, (guys username) if you are reading this, PLEASE EMAIL ME". Yes, I took you're pictures without creditting you etc etc. But alteast I credited him SO GET OFF MY BACK! AND, when he told me to remove the pictures, I did so without any problems or saying anything. I just removed them and that was it. Seriously, all you are trying to do is start a fight and honestley, its getting on my nerves. Stay to your site and I'll stay to mine. I've kept my mouth quite and now its starting to piss me off. Please stop.

And wally426ci, I honestley dont know. Anybody who wants to use pictures off my site can do so. Ryan has a problem with people using his pictures. Fine, thats him but why he had to come in here and open his mouth, I dont know.

And here he goes again with all his copyright links. There was a thread on Moparts that got locked because of all this crap. I asked to use one of Ryan's pics and he said No. I dont remember what happened after that but just before the thread got locked, Ryan posted all those stupid copyright links. Seriously Ryan, just stop please. You are ruining my thread. When I made this thread, I had no intentions to start a fight. I just wanted to get more word out about my site. So do everybody a favour and please stop with all this copyrighting crap and everything. If you want to post that, then make you're own thread. Like I've said, I've kept my mouth shut and I've stood down but now its getting annoying and frankly, I'm really tired of it and I'm putting my foot down. LETS GET BACK TO THE MAIN POINT OF THIS THREAD, MY WEBSITE. NOT ALL THIS COPYRIGHT, HE DID SHE SAID CRAP. Cody

You used ANOTHER persons pictures without asking, just citing them does not mean that they gave you PERMISSION to use them.  That is AGAINST THE LAW.  You ASSUMED you could use them, and he DID NOT want them used.  He could have SUED you over copyright infringement.

You tried to pass MY pictures off as YOUR own.  You LIED to others and STOLE my pictures without asking.

People CANNOT use pictures from your site because they are NOT YOURS.  If someone wanted to use them, they HAVE TO ask the person who the pictures came from.

I don't care if I'm getting on your nerves.  You need to learn not to take without asking.  You want to use the pictures, know the right way to do it and learn the copyright laws.
