if you are talking about a in dash CD player that will fit the dash without cutting it up then im sorry but i dont think anyone makes one. they have to be wider to accomodate the CD's. there are companys that make the shaft mount stereos that will work in the dash without cutting it that can control a CD changer.
that is the best way to have CD's in your classic ride but you can always use a tape deck in the dash and use a portable CD player with a cassette adapter.

crutchfield has a "does this fit in here search" it shows about 50 it sez fit with no mod.

i just put a pioneer mp3 under dash and left the stock one alone had to move the vent pulls but it was fairly simple.10 hrs of crusin muzak on one cd........woowaaa

The other option you have is to mount a CD player in your glove box... leave the factory radio where it is, tie the 2 together... put a changer in the trunk... and you're all set!! ;D

Perfect fit. Like it ws made to go there.  pioneer deh1600.  Take the cage off the deck when you get it. push into dash and it snaps in place. cut bottom of RADIO bezel off and install radio then bezel. Install dash trim that was NOT modified.  Circuit city 109.00 Did this two days ago. Also installed an alarm with motion detector and hood pin switch.  here is a pic.

I didnt cut any holes anywhere. The square hole is whats left when you remove a factory E body radio.

The plate which is for the older style with 2 tuning knobs, should not be needed with the new cd player.

mine had a Pioneer tape deck that used the 2 knob style. Toss the adapter plate, as it can be removed by mounting screws.

Reflections: Thanks for the photo, I was wondering myself it that pioneer cd player would fit, not into the hole, but the thickness of the faceplate.

moparnut,

I bought a Sanyo FXCD500, from Crutchfield and installed it in my '70 Challenger. It fits perfect. No cutting of factory parts. I did have to trim the bezel (the one that came with the radio) a little bit so it would fit between the radio and the dash bezel. The trusty dremel tool fixed that.
The black color of the radio matches the dash pretty good and the green display color is almost dead-on with the factory instrument panel lights.
I installed Infinity "Reference" speakers. It sounds awesome, especially considering there is no extra amp.

Good luck!

Oh yeah.. The great thing is that it has CD and Cassette player all in one regular size deck.. I think it's the only "regular-size" deck available with both players.

Hey Moparman, that looks nice and neat. I'll be doing the same, but no tape just a single CD and a stacker in the boot. Nothing fancy, just a black face so it doesn't look boy racer.
