There are 2 screws behind the mirror. I have had some success in angling a flat blade screw driver back there and loosening the screws, but I've also failed and founnd it MUCH easier to break the glass.   :grinyes:

This may not help but if you soak the whole mirror in spray gun cleaner it will loosen the silicon holding the glass and allow you to remove it and save the date coded glass.
This assumes you are going to refinish it. It will not hurt the chrome also

If you don't care about the glass, then that is the easiest way. Pry around the edges with a small flat blade screw driver, and the glass will either pop out, or break. There are 2 screw holes right behind the glass that will allow you to use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the glass assembly. I assume you know where you can get new mirror glass? I see them on E-Bay every once in a while.

Michelle, I had a Roadrunner mirror that I sold awhile back. I took it to a place here in York and they replaced the glass while I waited. I try to get the # for you.

If you don't have any luck with a glass company, this place can help you out . The website is www.partsunlimitedllc.com. I got my mirror glass from them at a reasonable price and the glass fit very well.
