Magnum Motor Injection
« on: December 18, 2007 - 11:05:31 PM »
So dang it - CP and I were at the U-Pull Wreckers on Sunday in the freezing cold. we pulled a set of nice Magnum 360 heads off a van motor (should have taken the whole motor it was so good and only $160 for the unit) and an electronic injection manifold with the injectors. We also got all the exhaust manifolds, valve hardware, pushrods and roller lifters all in good shape.... and a mini starter.
So the question is - has anyone thought about using the Stock Magnum intake, injectors and TBI (modified perhaps) on a 340 or 360 engine? We got everything except the computer so how can we make this work on the 340 with the magnum heads etc. This is the old motor out of the Chally so it is most likely destined for an expermental Dart project with the A833 4 speed. Where does one go from here for engine controller etc?

I've thought about it but it's only cheap if you're running a stock engine.  The concern is supporting larger hp numbers ie 475.  I'm guessing that the minute you change the injectors you will need a new computer which adds $1000 plus the price of the injectors.  Then the TB is too small.....
