Lower control arm slop

I'm rebuilding my fron suspension and I notice there's some slop in the lower control arm, in the pivot point. I'm not talking about the bushing but the metal to metal pivot spot . is a 1/4" back and forth movement at the end of the arm acceptable? I don't see any way ro restore them, live with it or replace them I guess?  I wonder if some type of lubrication should be used or would that just gather grit and make them wear worse?

I don't think that the 1/4" is an indication of a problem, with the addition of the strut rod the LCA is located & the movement negated... As for lubrication I could find no recommendations but I packed mine with very thick marine grade grease to keep things working smoothly.

 :clapping:  Hey guys,
This is what i do to lower control arms and it stiffens them right up, zero slop.  I use 3/16 plate, drilled holes are for the bolt adjustment on the torsion bar, and a little for cosmetic looks.  When performing this mod you must have a pale of water to dunk the lower control arms in straight after welding to prevent melting of the bush.

there is always some play in th eT bar pivot , this is controlled by the castor strut rod when in the car
