6 Way Seat Track
« on: December 21, 2007 - 08:49:13 PM »
I'm finding that on longer trips with the Challenger, my back starts killing me.   Does anybody know of a source for one of these (hoping it will help).   I know they are getting expensive..... but .....

Thanks

Please be advised that the braces seem to be tougher to find then the seat tracks. Was lucky to get an excellent set of tracks on ebay two weeks ago and have been looking for the braces since.

Madmax.

Not sure what braces you are refering to.    Check out this "how to" from Barry's website at http://www.hamtramck-historical.com/installing6wayseatadjuster.shtml    and especially the parts references at the bottom.... perhaps this is what you are looking for?     Or am I missing something else -- before I even find a reasonably priced seat track mechanism?

Exactly Vermont - This is what I have (first picture) the seat tracks and the braces (second picture) is what I have to find now. Harms used to carry them, but unfortunately due to low demand he has stopped carrying them.

Actually had just grabbed the first picture that I had of what I was talking about. In fact the one that you posted looks like the picture of mine that I had posted. Here is mine and Yes was very pleased with the condition.

Looks like you are right.... I contacted Harms and Scott said that he doesn't carry the brackets and his source has "dried up" -- so not sure where those might be available.....     Are they "critical" to mounting the 6 way seat?

Of course, I'm still looking for the 6 way seat itself!    ???

VermontMOPAR...I have my 6-way seat track installed without those braces but there are some huge thick washers I used under the floor pan for more support. So, I guess they aren't all that critical until you eventually get them.

I bet if you put your mind to it, you could make those with 3 pieces of steel. 2 sides and the top welded at the seams/ corners

The one in Mad's top photo is mine, it is in my T/A now. The tire tracks are from doing an occasional burnout inside the garage.

The Occasional Burnout - LOL - The top part looks like nothing but tire tracks.

Regarding dried up source of seat tracks from Harms, there is a thread now on moparts.com.  Apparently the 50/50 partnership between Scott and Domingo is over.  Domingo makes the products in Peru.  Domingo assured his products would be available soon from other reputable vendors.
