clutch linkage ball studs 1 and 2

I have a 72 Challenger with a 340 and manual transmission. I am assembling the clutch linkage. There are two ball studs, BS-1 and BS-2, that act as pivots for the Z-bar. One of the ball studs is short, the other long.

Which one goes in to the bell housing, and which attaches to the frame? The diagrams I have are not clear. I know BS-2 goes in to the bell housing, but can't figure out which one is BS-2!

Also, do the tips of the snap ring that goes around the Z-bar fit into the groove that goes around the bearings that fit over the tip of the ball stud BS-1?

Can this be greased using wheel bearing grease?

Both of my ball studs are the same length.    The clip does go into the bearing groove on the frame rail side of the z-bar and keeps it from pulling out.  Look in any service manual and it will show you the exploded view.

On my 70, the short one went to the frame and the wire clip went on that one. The long one went on the bellhousing.   Not sure if it right, but it's the only way it would work

Yes, I used wheel bearing grease. I also could not even get the rubber seals onto the ball studs without greasing them.

I'm a big fan of grease. I know that handling greasy parts is annoying, but nothing keeps a part from rusting like a little grease. I like to grease the threads of bolts before putting the nuts on, it ensures proper torque, and keeps the nut from rusting on.

I use wheel bearing grease because it seems more stable than regular grease.
