yea, I know, I know....  :lol:
I`ve been cleaning and rebuilding a bunch of parts, some painted ,some powdercoated,  but it`s going rather slow due my bad back.  still getting some stuff done though.
rebuilt the calipers and starter this past week.  Made new sailpanels on the english wheel a couple of weeks ago.  No funds available to get new parts ,so that puts things on the backburner too. I`m still enjoying myself with the small stuff  ::)
I pulled the trans from the shelf today... see what I can make of that.  I did find the vin of my car,  but what do the numbers on the other side tell me about it?

I will  have to install the rearwindowtrim and side trim first before I drill holes in the sailpanels, but I`m sure they will fit flawless.
English wheel is a nice tool to play with  :2thumbs:

Looks great!  are you going to paint the engine the same color, is it turquoise?  My first Gran Coupe was an N code 383 that was turquoise.

mine is a `Cuda and also an N code  hp 383.  I think the original color on these hp`s was orange  :clueless:   anyways... it`s got a 1970
hp 440 now, and I know orange would be the way to go, but I like the turquoise a lot better with the yellow-ish bodycolor.  So, yes, it will be turquoise combined with aluminum and black  :bigshades:

Nope,  I didn`t.  When I drove the car 4 years ago, it shifted fine. I stored it with oil, so I cleaned it out and installed new filter ,gaskets and seals.  I`ve been thinking about rebuilding it, but I don`t have enough clean workspace to do my first trans overhaul....  I`m sure I will grab it by the horns one day... just not this week....  :cheers:
I did spend quiet some time grinding and sanding that thing... man, they really didn`t give a sh!t about the looks back then... I was amazed to see how poor the different parts of the castingmoulds had been fitted  :scared:

Hi Bart-
As always, nice job cleaning up the tranny.  When I did mine, yes, lots of rough spots and extra metal from the mold.  I didn’t clean the case up as nicely as you did yours.  Your tranny looks too nice to be hidden under the car.

I love the english wheel work for the sail panels. Wish I had access to one. I still want to see the Gran coupe one piece headliner done in aluminum  :drool:

The benchwheel I built is way too small for the headliner, but a friend has got a huge one I can use for that project.  Just haven`t come around to make an appointment to go there with the car and play....  I admit I have thought about a short cut and use the original 5 bows to get the headliner in, but I still like the idea of having a smooth one without any seams... I like the challenge too...  :working:
