thanks. I was saving up $$ for a windshield, but got a great deal on the stripes...  pretty cool to finally see the car the way it has been inside my head for so long  :bananasmi  I also got to feel a tiny bit of the power the 440 throws out......  :burnout: :cooldancing:  :jumping:   ohhh, do I want to take it out on the road  :)

Looks good.  What did you use for the rear end drop?

I used alu lowering blocks, I think they were belltech  :clueless:

I'm just so surprised that you have no desire to drive the thing?
It's like a 1:1 die cast or something? :dunno:

dag noorderbuur!

just read through the entire post in one go! it read like a fine book :-)
i have a question, since you put in a 440, did you not consider putting in subframe connectors or torque boxes to stiffen up the chassis for the added torque? or swaybars to stiffen up the steering?
i'm building up a '70 barracuda (well, i have been for a few years now...) and i was about to finish up my metalwork when i learned it's
better to stiffen up the frame when you're upgrading the engine, mine was an original slant 6 so it didn't have any of the reinforcements they put on a standard big block car... what was the original
engine?

anyhow, great job, awesome colour and hope to see you some day! (btw, i see you know Per, i bought my 440 from him a few years ago :-)

I think I`ve seen your car... it used to be bronze / gold ,right?   How`s the project coming along?
Mine is a N-code `Cuda, so a 383hp car.  The 440 was already in there. I did consider stiffening stuff, but when I started the project ,my wishlist was about a mile long and I don`t want to spend 15 yrs building a car... perhaps one day, when I decide to drive the sh!t out of it ,I will... Ever since I thrashed my classic Beemer, I`m not really into driving on the edge.   The car didn`t have cracks , I`m sure it will be ok.
It does have a front swaybar,  rear is still on the wishlist.  feel free to walk in when you`re in the neighbourhood. I`m near Enschede.

yep, that's the one!
ah, i suppose the torque boxes would be there in a 440! and the bigger torsion bars... i'm guessing the car will handle just fine as long as you're not gonna Starsky and Hutch your way through the streets of Enschede :-)
my progress came to a halt about 6 months ago when i sliced and diced my hand with the angle grinder while cutting away on the trunk panels  :ylsuper:
but that healed up fine now and i started a side-project (1942 Zundapp KS750, yes, a bike :-) for a customer, always good to make some cuda-spending money on the side  :bigshades:
should get that done in about 6 months but after that, it's back to the cuda, and i'm not stopping untill it says "vroom"!

Hi Bart,
Sorry for taking so long to respond on your Cuda’s new stripe.  I like it, reminiscent of the AAR stripe.
You know that you have to put on the passenger’s side to; otherwise the car will constantly pull to the left because of the extra weight.  :clueless:  I read that some place, probably on the Internet.

Cuda still needs a wing.  :stirpot:
I know where a ’70 Cuda wing is, just sitting there gathering dust (Oklahoma is a very dusty state).

Looking forward to more Cuda car progress and, and of course, our PM conversations.
Take care my friend,
