Got another project. A-body
« on: December 29, 2007 - 09:38:41 PM »
My Dad is getting into the Mopar world now. I went with him today to get a 70 Dart Swinger. The car had a foot of snow on it when we picked it up. It is a slant six column shift auto car, but appears to be the original paint and wheels (has the polished dog dish hub caps). Good solid car doesn't appear to have hardly any rust in it. It is missing the drivers fender and the hood was replaced. The grille is mint. Sorry abouth the pictures but it was getting late when I took them.

Those things can be super bad with a 340 and a 4 speed.  Looks like a great new toy.

Cool deal. You wouldn't believe the one my buddy recently got a hold of. He got a gold one with a cream top that was purchased new from some older lady. She put a paltry 1,200 miles on it before she died. Her crazy sister that she lived with didn't drive and the car sat in the garage in it's original state for 26 years until my buddy got a tip on it. He picked it up for a measly $1,000. Wow!

It looks like we are going to put a small block and 4 speed in it. Probably run the polished dog dish wheels and paint it plum crazy with a white bumble bee stripe and white interior. We are going to leave the bench seat and run the factory A body rallye gauges. It should be a lot of fun.

Looks like a great project.   I'm not used to seeing one without rotted rear quarter panels.

Isn't that the clown's car?  It's a cool car, my mom had a '72 pale yellow /6 Swinger when I was a kid.

That's a great looking car to start with. I have a 68 Dart 270 that I want to put in a 360 someday. I'm helping a friend with his 70 440 Six Pak Challenger and when it's done we are going to start my wifes pink 73 Swinger. So the dart is going to have to wait a while longer.
