Welcome to the site and I tend to agree that I would not pay over MSRP as it is a 318 Challenger and looks to need a complete restorationa and has set for years.

WELCOME to the site!  Looks pretty good. One very similar just sold for 4500.00   :2cents:

 :iagree:

I would not spend more than that. Just my  :2cents:  Plus I would need to look at the frame rails before I made the purchase.

i just got done spending a few months trying to find a challenger in the 3-5k range. yours would be the 3rd red 71 318 car ive seen that hasnt moved in 10 or more years.  if i was buying it im thinking 3k should put her on the trailer.

That low retail is a running driving vehicle needing only minor reconditioning not a total resto. $3-3,500

It's better to pay a little more for a complete car I think.I know mine is keeping my pockets empty!

welcome frostbite, i agree, a running driving 71 chally, even a 318 car has gotta be in the $3-3500 range. I would scoop it up for that if the funds were there. big bonus getting something that is complete, not all that rotted, and you know the full history. make sure to ask if she has the window sticker and documentation to go with it.

Welcome aboard frostbite,

I would also take into consideration the condition some of the one year only parts:

Grille
Headlight bezels
Hood
Hood release handle
Hood trim
Tail Lights

Hope the best and keep us posted. :2thumbs:

Hi Everyone,
Not an owner yet but I have one in my sights.
It's a 71 original owner numbers matching, with a 318 and slap stick auto.
The paint is fair with some rust in the driver's side rear quarter and on the roof where the vinyl was removed.
Other than that the body is straight. The interior has some tears in the seats but is in pretty good shape, headliner intact, carpet intact.
Engine ran when it was parked about 10 years ago.
This car is owned by a woman who has had some medical issues since it was parked. She has always wanted to keep it, but has decided that it would be better to let someone else enjoy it.
We are trying to find an honest fair value for the car and would appreciate your opinions.
Thanks

Any good news?
Mike, Fremont, CA.
