Pics of flat hooded challengers
« on: December 30, 2007 - 05:38:35 PM »
Anybody have any pics of flat hooded challengers? I have not seen any in the pics that have been posted throughout the site. I am getting ready to buy a new hood and would like to see how a flat hood would look compared to a ralleye or R/T hood. My car was an origainal 318 /flat hood , but someone ruined the hood with an aftermarket chevrolet scoop. I am still debating about keeping the car more original looking, but am not sure how a flat hood would look on it. If you have any pics, please post and any feedback would be nice too. :feedback:

When I bought my Challenger convert in 1997 I intended to buy an R/T hood to add it, but I never did.  Now I am glad I didn't, it's nice to be original and even nicer to be different!

Mine came with a flat hood that I still have in storage, but I never took any pics before I made the switch, sorry.

I think the Challenger R/T hood is the most awsome hood out there. I would change it in a heart beat!!   :2cents:

Agree, - on 72-74 Challenger.  On 70-71 it looks just as god with flat hood, especially with the wide crome front thing...

i love both, but i am swapping to a R/T hood for a while and keeping my flat one since it is an original R/T car with a factory flat hood

The flat hood just makes it look like it is missing something just too plain for me  :2cents:

I've been told I should leave mine a flat hood as well.  There's a couple of good looking examples here, but I don't know.  Part of the Challenger appeal is that "punch you in face" styling of the various performance hoods.

I think a tunnel ram or supercharger pokin' out of a flat hood might look good, though....

Here's an old picture of mine.

well, i really like the look of the 70-71 style with the flat hood. Those are some good looking cars. However from what i have seen so far, unless someone else has a sweet 72-74 with a flat hood, i will probably purchase a R/T hood. thanks for the pics guys and keep them coming. :2thumbs:
