I thought it would go there nicely with an AAR hood and then started thinking about a Shaker because I had been wanting the AAR hood and stripes for so long they got old to me. I just wonder how well a Shaker will provide cool air.
I won't be putting the engine in the car untill I get back from overseas so I will tackle it then. The current set up was pretty much just for the dyno. I purchased the intake hose the morning of the first dyno day. It is kind of make shift actually.

I don't know if I will dictate my choice of hood or even consider routing another pipe based od temperatures uder the hood. I am not necessarily on a quest to get every last bit of HP out of it.
I like the look of the shaker and the AAR hood. It will be one of the two. As for the pipe, ehh, I don't really care. I might monkey with it at some point. I have to get a little trip out of the way before I get to get back to the project.

I like the shaker hood but it is so complicated. I like the T/A hood and the metal scoop on a flat steel hood would be awesome. But I think hands down my favorite scoop has to be the AAR hood. It just looks mean, even though I know it does not flow air as well as the T/A.

SOOOOOO NICE!
How much fab was involved on the turbo?  Is an intercooler an option?

No turbo, it is a D1-SC Procharger. Not really any fbrication except milling about .130 off two bolt holes on the water pump to true the supercharger bracket up. Alot of parts research and block work though.

Real nice setup, go-fish!  Looks like something that belongs in a jet or something!

Did you get this setup from from The Supercharger Store?

As far as the scoop goes the AAR scoop is wicked cool...too bad it wasn't designed with a cowl induction area at the base of the windshield to get some cold air in.  That would work great considering the position of your air filter.

Again, looks great!

Thanks Blue. A Chevy buddy of mine did mention that about a cowl induction hood and they do make them but with the super cool looking hoods that came on these cars I can't deter from either te AAR or Shaker. They are just too cool..... and I have some power to spare. This isn't a "Max Effort" build. When I stab the engine into the car, who knows how the pipe will route, it was just a quick fix for dyno runs.

This is a really nice set up you're putting in Go Fish. Any estimate what the torque & horsepower will be?
Sorry to hear you have to leave soon.

Sounds like you have a good plan setup for the induction. :2thumbs:  I saw those pics fresh from the dyno stand and thought you were going to keep that intake pipe running there.  So do you know how the centrifugal superchargers such as yours compare to a turbocharger?  I know it still spins at a lower rpm, but how efficient is the boost you're producing? (As in would it be a relatively large gain to run an intercooler)  I also didn't see what boost your running.  I'd assume the system comes dialed in at 7,8, or 9 psi. :dunno:  Either way, it's a very nice build-up and should be a very reliable combination out on the streets.

Max boost is 12 psi. We had it pulling up to 14 psi and it had too much timing, spun it too high an rpm and started detonating so we tore it down and it had started to eat the center main bearings. The System 1 oil filter caught everything thanf goodness. We shouldn't have had the timing so high, it would've been fine, and it made 600 lbft and 650 hp.

With the 6000 rpm rev limiter and less timing it made 12 psi and peaked at 582 HP ad actually picked up 7 pounds of torque at a couple hundred less rpm.

I have never messed with turbo's besides replacing Caterpillar turbo's on tractors. I went with a SC because they make power right off the bat as soon as there is rpm. you should see the graph, it just climbs and climbs. Yeah, I know it takes power to make power too. You also get that power without the scorching temps of a turbo.

I would like to get some sort of turbo car in the future. They are awesome power adders. My Dad had 2 twin turbo Stealth R/T's, what a rocket. I love that tubo sound too.

The great thing about this engine is the longevity it will provide. It makes more HP than the Internet Experts say LA's can take but it has a main girdle and it's a stronger '71 360. I had the block machined for hyd. roller lifters and it has a small cam. It is a verry happy combo and doesn't fight itself to make power especially with the power adder taking some HP making chores off the engine itself. I think that is a big deal, the harmonics are cut down alot and I think violent combos like with wicked cams and weaker late model blocks wouldn't last too long but this thing operates very smoothly, idles at below 800, and will likely last a long time.

BTW Street, I love the Stealth. I had the Stealth Bomber, a 3.0 non-turbo and not the bad@$$ 24 valve head. I loved it. I felt like Mario Andretti even if I was just taking a curve at 40 mph. It was lazer sharp but under-powered. It did get almost 30 mpg though!
Dad's cars were all that but would go like 682 mph! Power was ondemand above a certain rpm. He sold one right before it blew up and traded the other for a 69 Big Block Road Runner.

Oh yeah! That's the big boy! The step up from mine is the F1, then you have the F2. If you have about $35,000 you can have an F3 Indy Maxx built. www.stevemorrisracingengines.com
