How come people are saying that the Challenger is wider in the track.
Don't both cars share the exact same engine bay and suspension pieces, K-frame the lot.

The Barracuda is  overall length  186.7  and the Challenger is 191.3

The width for the Barracuda is 74.7 and the height is 51 or 50 for the Cuda  and the Challenger is 76.2 and the height is 50.9.

Just some of the differences.  Body shape is some of it.
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

:clapping: I thought that the Challenger may of been wider through the body, only becuase of its excentuated lines.   :woohoo:

I also forgot the Wheel base is different.  Cuda is 108 and the Challenger is 110.

Yes, track width is the same. Wheelbase is different. Overall body width and length are also different. That is also why Challengers don't require the weird lump in their rear splash pan that Cudas need to allow shackle clearance.

Some of it could be that I drove the Cuda first or really the A-body 64 Barracuda first the went to the 1970 Barracuda.

I like driving my Cuda more with it's mean look and the 4-speed. But for the long haul I'll get in and drive my Challenger RT automatic. It seems to handle the open road and interstates better. The ride is also smoother when hitting the bumps in the road.

My first E body was a 71 R/T 383 auto car with front and rear sway bars. The car at the time, I could only run bias ply tires due to me being so cheap.

My second E body was a 70 Barracuda 318 auto car. I had radial tires on it.

As to which car handled best, I would have to say that the 71 Challenger did with everything considered....now once I get my 70 Cuda 383 up and running....we shall see....

Just my opinion

72 Cuda 340 3 speed (project)

I'll just say this...

My Challenger with power steering is alot easier to drive than April's manual steering Cuda. I'm sure her husband Joe won't forget that night.   :scared:

Power steering makes a difference for sure.  But put the power on her cuda then it would be better also.

...I never really noticed any difference between  CUDA VS Challenger....the real difference is the engine up front

...I prefer the feel of the T/A or the AAR over any Ebody, but I never really noticed any difference between the two

...even 340 Ebodys don't handle like a T/A or AAR, not even close...seem to sit to low, especially in the rear

...440 SIX PACKS and HEMIS all seem to be somewhat nose heavy and more  for straight line driving

...the TRAMS AM cars are the best handling period, in my opinion....thru the years I have put lots of miles on various TRANS AM cars, and really enjoy the ride and feel, they are among the best of their time...prefer the feel of the Pistol Grip too

...my first T/A....34K mile 4spd.....I learned what matching numbers were on this car....luckily, they did....bought it in Cincinnati, paid $4900. in 1985....sold it to a guy in Minnesota a few months later for $6,500 and have never seen or heard of it since...it was near perfect

I don't know I really liked to drive my 440-6 it was great and would turn over the G60's on the rear when it shifted to 3rd even did not notice that it was heavy in the front because always had my foot in the throttle and that did not leave much weight on the front.

a SIX PACK under full acceleration does make the nose lighter
