     :clapping: Good to see some progress happening Allen.

    It is looking great,  :2thumbs: good idea to shoot color to seal the underside of the quarters, a little bit of paint will burn when welded but it can be blended again with some more color once finished.   :grinyes:  More people should do this to eleminate rusting in the future. :biggrin:

    make sure you spray the tar on the inside of the quarter panel. don't make the trunk so shiny...should be dull.

    I bought the car at a Mopar car show / swap meet in 1986 sight-unseen based on some pictures for $600.  I stored the C500 for 21 years before starting the restoration, so I am trying to make up for lost time...

    The car came to Texas from Missouri in the late 1970s and was parked at an apartment complex where the owner lived.  One of the local Mopar enthusiasts contacted the owner, but it was not for sale.  He left his phone number, and the guy later called to offer it for sale.  Athough the local guy no longer wanted it, he bought the car and "flipped" it to another guy the next day.  The new buyer & his son owned the car until shortly before I bought it when they sold it to the guy I bought it from.  The guy I got it from only owned it for a short time before selling it due to an illness in the family.  In fact, the guy I bought it from never moved the car from the previous owner's house.

    I have been tol the car was last driveable in 1982...

    There are quite a few un-restored rare cars still around in the hands of folks that saved them from the crusher when no one else wanted them.  Counting my three Aero cars, I know of a dozen or more original Aero cars locally that are yet to be restored...

    At least all of them have been stored inside for these many years...

    Prior to installing the quarter panels, a 2-3 inch band around the edges to be welded will be sanded down and weldable primer applied.  The color coat will then be touched up & blended as you said after installation of the quarter panels.  The C500 will be much better protected from corrosion than when it left the factory in December of 1968...

    Sound deadener is already applied to the insides of the quarters, but I am considering having the painter apply more and only "overspray" the second coat of sound deadner with blue paint...  not sure if I'll have it changed or not.  This will not be a concours correct restoration tho...
