Twin turbo 400
« on: December 31, 2007 - 03:04:28 PM »
This ones not for my cuda, but for my 93 dakota drag truck im building. Starting out with a stock rebuilt 400 low deck, mildly ported 452's, and still looking into cams, thinking about the mopar purple shaft P5007697 with 1.6:1 rockers. I was plotting my compressor maps to see what garrett turbos would do the job and the ones Ive came up with are in the T04E 50-57 trim range. I think two of these should be good for 400cid, 5500rpm and playing around with up to 10psi (staying around 6psi max normally). Any insight would be helpful since this will be my fisrt turbo motor since it doesnt look like i can make the power i want from the 400 without the stroker kit. Just looking to do something different.

you do not want an off the shelf cam grind , I would look at a cam with lots of lift & relatively short duration & a 112 -114 * CL to trap the pressure not blow it out the exhaust Engle Or Lunati wil custom grind a cam to your exact needs for no more cost than a off the shelf cam

I'm going to be building a single turbo 340 for my 71 Challenger.Once I get the sheet metal work on the body I'm going to start on the motor.
