If that was not the wining bid then I would hate to see what they wanted.  I will find something different for mine.
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

Well, it's relisted, and with a BIN of $1,675.00.  I wonder if the high bidder initially will be insulted and not take it this time.  I hope not.

Aren't there aftermarket quick ratio steering boxes that'll do the same job for less money?   :dunno:

Why spend that money unless you have a Challenger T/A or AAR you're restoring?  Just very curious...not to offend anyone or anything.  :2cents:
1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

I don't believe there is a reproduced quick ratio steering box, but you can get a quick ration pitman arm, which is certainly an improvement over the stock arm, but I don't believe it will give you the performance of the TA box.  With that said, I would never pony up that kind of money unless I was restoring a TA/AAR as an $80K+ project.

I am not restoring a AAR so if any other options for the quick ratio would be appreciated.  I would like to even consider putting a rack and pinion set up on it.  Just thinking at this point anyway and wanting any responses and thoughts on this.

This is about the best deal I've seen.

That didn't last long.  It looks like the high bider from the original auction took the BIN.  What's interesting is all his recent purchases were for A body cars.  :clueless: If he's looking to resell, he might in for it for a while.

Here's something from Moparchat, they say use a "C" body pitman arm because it's longer?

Also Flaming River has a box, but I don't know how it stacks up to the T/A box:

I wonder how much longer the "C" body one is?

If it is longer, will it put more stress on the steering box because of the longer lever arm and cause premature failure or strain????  :clueless:  :dunno:

plus i would imagine if you got a longer pitman arm, it would throw the suspension out of wack, not to mention the need for a matching idler arm, i would think different lengths would cause different radius from side to side. maybe not.
