No, it was not standard equipment at least in 70.  Come 71 it may have been or was at least more likely found.

It was according to what suspension that was ordered on the car.
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

My 70 R\T didn't come with either sway bar. It has them now though.  They were more interested in drag strip performance then.

My 70 R/T came with the front, but not the back.  It also has both now.

Odd all of my 71 Challenger RT 340 cars have had both and 3 of my 70 Cuda cars had both. Makes me wonder how you got the sway bar when new.

My R\T was built in August 1969. It was probably standard in on the later models.

I went through my sales order sheets.  It looks like the rear sway bar was never standard on an Ebody.  The front sway bar was standard with the heavy duty suspension (R/T,T/A, Rallye, Cuda, AAR).

I don't have the build sheet on my 70 340 4-speed Cuda but it is a 11-69 build date.

I knew a guy with a '71 Hemi Cuda that had one.

Then it had to be an A/T model.

The transmission selection didn't make a difference on the sway bar.  A front and rear sway bar could be ordered on any Ebody.  The front sway bar was standard with the heavy duty suspension and the rear was always an option. You had to have a front sway bar before you could order a rear sway bar.

True, but e bodies that had Hemis with 4 speeds had Danas and A/T's had 8 3/4's. The rear sway bar option was only on 8 3/4's.

Right?
