You might be able to find a rusted shell for that price range. Sorry to burst your bubble. However there is the extremely rare case that one can be found. A friend of mine picked up a 70 vert for 12k a year ago. But I think your odds of winning the lotto are higher.

As above, finding one in that price is almost unheard of in today's market. You may find a rust bucket near death that has been stripped to pieces so forget seeking any drivetrain, just seek the body first. Realistically you'll be looking at $30K+ for anything mildly decent. By the way, there were no 72-74 convertibles. Only a handful of customs.

I was just at the restoration shop I use in NC, and he has a customer who owns a '70 Challenger 440-6.  This guy just found a '70 'Cuda 383 4-speed convertible in an upstate SC paper for $5000.  Talk about being at the right place at the right time.  I saw the car last weekend while visiting my car, and it was extremely nice.  Dark green w/ front rubber bumper, light package, rally dash, solid floors and trunk...just needs panel replacement, fuel tank, stuff like that.  These kinds of deals are VERY few and far between, but it did let me know that they're still out there.  I'm encouraged!  Good luck with your quest.

Chances are better you might find a vert Challenger in that price range. Any ebody vert is rare but it seems like challys show up on Ebay or CL needing lots of work in the 15-20k range. There was another guy on here looking for a vert and within a short time two chally's in that price range were posted, one on ebay the other on CL.

I dont think I have ever seen a vert Cuda in that price range but you never know!
