Believe it or not you can get slightly better mileage with a 6 pack, but we don't play by reality, do we?  If you think about it, if you're just cruising along, you're only running on the center carb, with is 350CFM, so until you punch it, you're doing pretty well.  The outboard carb will still trickle fuel, but not much.  Of course, who gets a 6 pack for the mileage?

When I really wanted fuel mileage I unhooked the front and back carbs so I was not tempted on kicking it in.  Just something I did and it really was not that hard to do on a small block setup.  When I had the 440-6 I was not worried about fuel mileage so I could always access the power.

if your not going to drive the car much, than milage shouldn't be an issue. I have never driven a hemi, but just going to shows and cruises, the people are always fascinated by the color and then they see the 6 pack and it just makes them always bend down and look at all the carbs under that big old air cleaner.  I like the 6 pack and the way it runs, I do have a healthy lump to my cam as well and the car still performs really good when you lay into it.

I am wondering if a 6 pack could help my mileage.

I love driving my car, when gas was $1.50 a gallon, I put 100 miles a day on it--high speeds means you rack the mileage up quick.

Now I put $20 in it and its gone before the days done, it stinks. Going to try a RPM intake have a S D--its a small block but this 9-10 mpg bit is killing my spending cash. 2-3 more MPG would be 20%-30% better.

You can make more power with a 4 barrel.

I love the look of the six pack and I waited around on Ebag till i finally found one for cheap.  I haven't hooked it up yet and it probably doesn't work knowing my luck, but the guy said it was rebuilt and it looked clean.  It is painted the wrong color right now but no biggie.  I got this for a 1000 even.

You can make more power with a 4 barrel.

With modifications, yes, but I believe we are talking pretty much stock.

I am getting the 6 pak next month along with some other goodies.. I have 2x4bls on it now, the cam is pretty lumpy with a 2500 stall.. not sure on the compression and size cam.. but it boots with the setup I have now.. I really want the 6 pack on there, I dont mind if I loose some power..  I am going to run it down the track a few times with this setup, then do the same with the 6 pack to see what the time difference is.. I am going with the complete kit I seen at some web sites, but nothing mentions about kickdown linkage, I am wondering if I can just use the existing one I have...

Six packs look awesome, but if your car is running perfectly with the 4 barrel and dual plane intake, why change it? Some motors you could probably take the carbs out of the box, and bolt them on it, and it would be almost perfect.  Since you have an aftermarket cam, they will probably be more difficult to set up.  I haven't had any experience with these setups but have played around with single four barrel setups for a while.  They are hard to beat, and not that hard to tune.  As a side note, my dad drove an almost new 69 1/2 Road Runner with the 440 Six Pac set up, 4 speed, and the dana track pack and he said that it absolutely drank gas.  He said that when he went WOT, he could see the gas hand moving towards E

:iagree:  With the 440-6 that I had you could watch it move the wrong direction.  On the small block 6 pack that I had it did not drink as much gas.  I loved both setups.
