Revisiting the pinon angle measurement method, what's the no-brainer way to set that? Level the car and place the protractor on the driveshaft directly? Or remove the driveshaft and take a reading from the end face of the trans tailshaft and dial in the yoke 5* down?

you want the nose of the carrier 5* nose down from the driveshaft angle so load the suspension , measure the driveshaft angle & the flat side of the yolk

Done - all finished now. Car is now dropped 3" in the back. 1" via spring relo and 2" blocks. Hopefully will get wheels measured and ordered this week. While it doesn't seem to drive different, it does feel different.

Next order of business, drop the front via torsion bars.

What torsion bars will you be running?  I have found that lowering the front end can lower the spring rate too much, and these cars have low enough spring rates as it is.

Honestly, I was hoping the stock rods would work for my build. I want to get the rockers level and I think thats going to mean at least a 2" drop on the front.

You can try it, but I think a 2" drop might cause you to be on the bumpstops every so often.  Pretty easy to give it a shot though.  With a 340, the .920 bars might be good, and should be found fairly cheap.

I'm with you - 2" is a lot of the travel the car was designed to have. It may need more and in that case, I may need to get some stiffer bars. Will keep those in mind. Am still trying to get my mind around the 9.5" and 275 wheel/tire combo up front.

There are a lot of references in this thread to Dr Diffs 1.25" relocation kit...but their website advertises it as a 1" relocation kit.  Do they sell 2 kits or is there a typo somewhere??

No, it exists, you have to ask for it. There are several products he has such as front and rear disc brake conversions that aren't illustrated on the website. FYI, the 1.25" kit is actually comprised of the stock Mopar 1" offset rear shackles and his 1.25" offset front spring mount. Is identical to what I have pictured on page 2 of this thread
