Carbon Fiber inserts on the cheap.
« on: January 06, 2008 - 04:39:15 PM »
Well after looking at the Aftermarket Inserts, I figured I'd try something out.  I found a roll of CF Decal for 13 bucks at PEP BOYS.  A 6" x 6' roll was enough to do the Door Inserts and the Console with a bit left over.

Matches my Gunslinger Shifter Handle pretty good.  I'll put them on in the spring.  I got these parts from 1badcuda a little while ago.  The woodgrain needed to be replaced anyways.
Figured I could order some repro woodgrain later if I got tired of the look. :dunno:

Do you have a close up pic, It's hard to see the detail.  What did you do to get it on?

Thx

I have this pic too.  It is basically a Decal, it came with a squeegy.  They go on pretty easy.  i jut used a sharp razor to trim the decal to fit.  Hardest part was getting the old woodgrain off.  The little bumps are the holes from where the Tri-star will go.

Thanks EvilTwinATX.

White gauges or something like that has a set to sell, but the sell the whole thing(guages and doors and console) for like 120 bucks.  I didn't have that kind of coin for something I might not like.LOL

Clown, Now that looks like it was a bit of work!  That looks awesome.  What would have been there originally?  My 69 was a Column shift. :walkaway:
