I don't think so.  The new satin blacks are single stage products.

Both SEM and DuPont now sell a single stage satin black called "Hot Rod Black"

I am planning on using it on the bottom and "blacked out" areas on my Challenger.

I've used the dupont on the hood of my Duster. It's a great product but expensive ($80. per Qt.)

I must have missed something - were there pics at the beginning of this thread?  I didn't see anything and he was talking about "the paint here is great" - the paint where??

The SLR McLaren is a decent car, but I always thought that from side profiles it looked too much like a shoe.  The cockpit sits so far towards the rear behind the long hood - just always thought the proportions were off.  I'd much prefer something from Ferrari or Porsche (namely the Carrera GT) for the same amount of money and much better proportions and shaping.

Problem with Lamborghini is that even the cheapest is still 175 thousand (or so.)  That's the Gallardo - still an awesome car in it's own right.  There are some AWESOME Ferraris starting at the $120K price point - that'll get you into a 430 which from what I've read over the years is one of the greatest cars EVER...

Sorry, not to hijack this thread but sorta related...

But... have you guys seen the deal, I forget what it is called, those in MA and have been at the Burlington Mall may have seen a black Lamborghini Gallardo in the middle of the mall....Geeze, wish I remembered the name...  Drive America or something weird like that?

Basically, it's like $895 and for 2 days you get to drive 5 different cars on public roads and have an overnight stay at a posh hotel.  I think the cars were like a Lamborghini Gallardo, Ford GT, Corvette Z06, Ferrari F430, and something else...forgot that too.... 


Anyhows, one of my friends did this a couple of years ago with his 12 year old son.  You follow a lead car and you take turns driving the different cars.  My friend is a speed demon and he said they drove pretty fast, but responsibly.  He said it was awesome!

I have seen that - can't say if it was much of a "Deal" for 900 bucks!

I also saw a club that you can join - somethin' like 1,300 a year or something like that - that you can join, and pretty much anytime you want, you just call in ahead of time, pick the vehicle you want, and they'll have it primed and ready sitting on a track with an instructor ready and waiting for you to tear it up.  Drive all day and go home whenever you want.

Again - tons of fun, but 1,300 bucks!!  Actually I really think it was into the 2K range...
