    Just curious why its coded A62 Rallye dash, but has a non-rallye A/C heater control panel.   :clueless:

    Because a non ralley control panel is all I could find when I needed to install the panel. At the time the ones on ebay where going for a fortune.

    Cool, didnt' know that. What is the issue with having AC with a Dana? Seems odd you couldn't get a 4spd RT big block with AC.   :clueless:

    My guess is because the 4 speed Dana combo was meant as the top performance model, and AC would be a leach on the HP.

    Do the rad support and cowl stamp match the VIN number?  Do you have the old data tag?
    If I am understanding correctly, all U code 4 speeds came with the Dana, and no AC.  I am interested in whether the car was not originally a 4 speed, not originally an AC car, or not originally a U code car.

    Please don't misconstrue the questions as ripping on the car at all  - I have seen much rougher cars sell for your asking price and that looks like a nice car at a nice price.  Being a real 440 RT 4 speed just makes it an even better deal.

    Ok I talked to a couple of guys who are mopar guys (Im just a chevy guy). One handed me a couple of books and restoration guides and flipped to the pages on A/C for me. He let me take one home so I could quote this right.
    Air was availble on all eight years for all models with these exceptions: 1967-1969 Barracuda with 383-ci; 1969 Baracuda with440-ci; 1967-1971 Hemi cars; 1970-1971 440-ci 3x2 bbl; 1970-1971 340-ci 3x2 bbl; 1967-1968 Barracuda with a v-8 and a three speed manual transmission; and 1969 225-ci with the trailer package.

    Like I said he had a couple of other books that basically said the same. I was told that the reason the 440 6bbl cars and hemi cars did not have A/C is because with the carbs there was no room for the compressor which makes sense. It would be pretty hard to believe that no 440 4spd cars had A/C when all there competion (GM/Ford) had it with there top performance engines.

    Could you order a Dana with a standard 440 4 barrel, or was it only available with the Hemi and 440-6?

    I know more than most I suppose?  :dunno:

    I will not say what or why, because it helps the fakers make more accurate tags. If they are going to guess at things, then they can just keep guessing with no help from me.

    To me there are three types of tags;

    1. Original.
    2. Reproduction based on an original rusty tag, a broadcast sheet or other original paperwork or records.
    3. Fake.

    There are a lot of fake tags out there these days, some are extremely hard to spot. This one was easy.

    All RB block 4 speed cars came standard with the dana 60. (required option)

    I talked with the seller of this car, seems like a good guy. The cowl and radiator support numbers are not there. No torque boxes from the pics i saw.

    BTW, if you look at this tag, there are several things wrong with it. Just compare it to known real ones, you'll see the differences.
