Bench or Buckets

I am wanting to get my interior seats redone. I currently have buckets w/o console, but I do have a split bench laying around. I am thinkin about going bench.....
  What do you guys say?

I love bench seats myself, but they only work with column shift or custom shifter cars.

'Course, I like column shift cars too.......

....especially the green ones.

The RJ Reynolds Cuda is a 4 speed and a bench seat set up so it was done by the factory and that would be unique if you like that set up.

If it were to be an automatic car with bench originally then it would be shift on the steering column.
If it were a 4 speed car with a bench it wouldn't have a center console either.

Can you give us a discription of the car. Anycase i too am a lover of the bench as rare as it has become.

You can't have bench seats and be Kool. Although, what do any of us know about being Kool

Actually the factory benchseats were one of the reasons i chose my Challenger over another similar one. I just LOVE the benchseats. Plus they are super rare - especially here in Europe, where you hardly see any classic cars on the roads at all.

Yeah, for some reason I thought it was a 4 speed. I just went and found the issue buried and it is an A/T.

The 4-speed was not available in a bench seat E-Body. The seat interferes with 2nd and 4th gear.

it could be done using the forward shift mount pad & the 71 B body bench seat pistol grip

What do you guys say?

Having driving one myself I'd say no. Bench seats are neat, don't get me wrong. Very American, very cruisey and very cool. But you slide around heaps and they're a lot bouncier than the bucket seats. I noticed a HUGE difference in comfort and handling on the roads, you feel better sitting in the buckets, more in control as it's a more tight-nit unit being smaller and more compact.
