I was given a 3.55 #9 suregrip today
« on: January 11, 2008 - 05:41:29 PM »
Maintenance man knows I'm all mopar. Stops by the unit I was at and says follow me home from lunch, I got a mopar gift for you.

In the back of a 37 international truck he pulls out a 355 sure grip center with surface rust from setting out in the desert and says here you go.

I get back inside the plant, put my helper on the unit working, and then get my tools out and take apart the unit. I then took it to a machine shop and had them vat it. Now I got it oiled down and will inspect it over my weekend off. I'm sure it needs bearings and a seal, but I see nothing wrong with the gears. I am going to open the suregrip case too.
