Has enyone every seen...
« on: January 13, 2008 - 10:35:15 PM »
The car that started my love for the E-body was my uncles 1972 Gran Coupe Barracuda. It was loaded with the ralley gauges, stripes and vinyl roof. For all accounts it was about as nice of a 318 car as you could get. The strangest thing about this car is that he bought it brand new and it was equipped with round "opera window" in the rear quarter section of the roof. Its the only Barracuda I've ever seen this way. Before I bought my 'Cuda I searched extensively for this particular car or one like it but came up with nothing. I do know this is that the glass was stamped with the Chrysler pentistar. I have a couple of pictures of the car when it was new and will try to scan the pictures but in the mean time has anyone else every seen this??????

Thanks
Dave

Just posted this 5 minutes ago so you might have to give me a couple days to try to figure out how to post up 35 year old pics. Just another tid bit of info is that the car was bought new in Charlotte NC in 1972 and was sold/traded to a local used car lot in Concord NC in 1988.

This sounds kinda familiar.  I remember a Cuda/Challenger mentioned here a while ago with opera windows.....

Never seen one like that and I have seen some pretty strange things before.  Bet it was dealer installed.
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development
