    Found this over on Moparts. What is it worth?

    1970 convertible, being cloned into a 1971.

    It needs rear quarters, and floor pans, but other that that it is solid.  Need’s a complete rebuild.
    Comes with a 833 4sp, and 4sp hump. 71 and 70 front valence, 71 grille and new bumpers front and rear. No motor.

    He gilled the 70 fenders and says he has most of the parts to make it a 71, as well as all the 70 parts.

    What does a nice 71 grill go for, as well as the valence?

    Nope, Just that it started life as a 318 auto. I am going to look at it this weekend.  I should have better pictures then.

    71 without the surround trim, grill gill chrome, or headlight surrounds.
    Nice 71 original grills go for upwards of $1000, closer to $2000 for decent complete originals, megabucks for show quality.

    Wasn't this on Ebay as well?  I don't really get cloning a 70 into a 71. Not saying what it is worth, but I'm sure he will get at least 15K, but less than 25K.

    I bet these day that is worth 20K plus . . . but less than 32K If you can pick it up for 30 or less, I think you did well.

    My guess, - He will get more than 8K, but prob. not 42K......

    Most small block convertibles ( and this needs rear quarters) plus other things go for $20K.  That being said, the car has two distinct things going against it.  Most do NOT take kindly to making a 70 into a clone 71 or visa versa.  Second, if the car has no fender tag, that drags it down for alot of people for a variety of reasons.   Yes, sure the vin will show its a 318 car if you have the vin# and/or title, but still it means something to alot of prospective owners.  A car needing << both>> quarter panels and floor boards needs alot of work.  This is especially true in a convertible where you need to brace up the car to protect its structural integrity.  Cause if you dont and you go welding those panels and floor boards in, then you will run into very and I mean very serious alignment problems.  This car resto isnt for the faint of heart.  My opinion is 15 to 20K.  20K being generous in my opinion, very generous.
