Does anyone live in the Czech Republic?
« on: January 15, 2008 - 01:17:42 AM »
I know it is a long shot, but I have a report due in 2 weeks and had a few questions if there is anyone.

If you have lived there in the past, but currently do not, I am sorry but I cannot use your answers because the teacher wants current answers/issues.  The bad thing is that she has traveled all over the world and knows if someone is making up facts.   :banghead:

Thanks in advance   :2thumbs:

Last time when we had the map I never recalled any members located on it nor posted here before. But you never know, we might just have someone from there.

Good Luck on your report.

I have'nt been there but what sort of questions?  I was thinking if they are general questions, or even specific, you can try contacting this site:

http://www.czech.cz/

There is a contact list at the bottom of the page and you may even try to contact some people on that page.

http://www.czech.cz/discussions/basic-facts/tereza-hurikova-i-cant-live-without-sport/
For example, this is a link to Tereza Huříková, who is a two-time junior road and mountain bike world champion that you can questions.

If you give us an idea of what type of questions, we might be able to direct you to more info.  :2cents:

Hope this helps!

Ive spent a lot of time in Prague and the Czech country side.    Last time I was there was a year ago.  Ive been most of the interesting places and "lived" there on the weekends, while I was working in Germany.

Dont know what youre looking for but....

(st) King Wenceslaus and Jan Hus are major historical figures, Roman occupation...

Saint Vitus Cathedral in the castle is interesting as is the St Charles Bridge over the Vltava river,  the the old Jewish center.

Prague (Praha) the golden city, Brno, Ceske Krumlov, Znojmo (for the wine, "see you twice in Znojmo"), Marianzke Lazne (spa town)

Budweiser Budvar beer (looks like a spitting image of the Budweiser label)  and of course Pilsner Urquell and Staropramen,

Velvet revolution...      So much Culture...

Prague is absolutely beautiful...   as are the Czech women.

Hey Robb,

I have a few questions for you.  You do not have to answer them all if you are not sure, but if you can please try to answer the last one the best you can.

Do businesses close down at certain times of the day?
Are the businesses closed on certain days?
When are the normal meal times?
Do they have a three-meal day or is it different?
Are cars common, if not, how do people get around?
Are there any popular trends?
Where do they get their trends?
If you were a business man bringing others in from your company, how would you warn them about the culture?

Thanks in advance   :2thumbs:
