Has anyone personally seen or used the AMD roofs?
« on: January 15, 2008 - 12:38:46 PM »
My Cuda needs a lot of roof work. I have a spare roof that I was going to have the bodyman cut apart, and use to fix my roof.

I see that AMD now has Cuda and Challenger roofs. At $600, it seems like a better (and cheaper) way to go.

Has anyone personally seen, touched, or used one of these roofs. I'd like to know about thickness, fit, quality, etc.

They have only been out for a short while now, so i doubt anyone has one yet. I am going to bite the big one and order for my challenger today. I have been patching on mine now for i swear a month, and it isn't getting any closer to being done. It will never look worth a damn, so i have nothing to lose.  :banghead: Just too much rust through. Besides that the underside(roof) is all rusted up and dang near impossible to clean up. I'll let you know when i get mine, it probably won't be soon enough for you though.

I don't need it right now, but I'd like to make a decision within a month or so if anybody gets to see one.

:woohoo: It is here. I pulled it out of the box and laid in on top of the car, just to see if there might be any noticeable issues. I think it will work out just fine. it will be a few weeks before i have time to pull the old roof skin off, and get a real good look at it then. I will keep ya all posted on how it works out. I will probably be posting on my thread in the restorations area. I think it is called Long term project. I put a couple pics there. :jumping:

Finally  :woo:
Really looking forward too see how that roof fits.
This may open up all sorts of potential for cars that may have been considered "too far gone" at one time due to a rusty roof  :clapping:
Make sure you take a billion pictures, as you may be the reference "go to" thread for future replacements.  :1zhelp:
No pressure though  :hyper: ................. :lol2:
