I'm sure it's a bogus number. For some reason, at certain times, there are multiple "guests".   :screwy:

Yup. It's true. 30-40%+ of these are search engine robots and auto spams. The first day my forum started we had 76 members on, 2 real and the rest spam.....I just ignore the "most online" it's not a true representation.  :2cents:

My question then is why have the number on the bottom stating how many have been on line?  If it is not correct why put that representation on the site.  Does not make since to me.  Giving us a false number.   :2cents:

I know StRoKer tried to set the record on New Year's Day, and we failed miserably. Maybe try again at a certain time at a certain day?  :dunno:

Ok if we did not do it today?  how can we get all of our members on at the same time?  A birthday party would be good.

It's not a false number. Admin or Mods have absolutely no control. The www web is like our countries, you are free to roam. Forums have this function like cars have air bags, standard. Again, it's not Admins fault, just one of these things. If you go online and want to know the "real" number, just overlook all the guests, simple.  ;) As Admin/Mod you get to see the IP addresses so you get to realise over time that some guests are in fact "genuine guests" and you'll also get to realise which IP addresses are spam, easy to spot the difference after a while.

It is still a false number then.  I have counted the ones on line.  how can we fix the number at the bottom of the page to be only members?

You can't. Just something no one has control of. Unless Bill Gates and has pack of nerds create some kind of system or wall that prevents these things from roaming, it'll be this way for good. You don't really want to either. The search engine "spiders" are good, it's the spam you don't want. So it's either both go or both stay. Yes, it's a false number, no one is to blame though. I myself could careless, it's just a number. Life's too short lol to worry about "who's online!"

Barrett Jackson started today, I wonder if that had any effect on the numbers.....
