Remember the Clintons?
« on: January 16, 2008 - 07:52:53 PM »
A friend of mine sent this to me. Interesting reading.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm sure this one will warm your little taxpayer heart.

If Hillary wins in 2008 and Bill is 'appointed' to fill her Senate seat and either live to retire 'they' (together or alone) would get two US Presidential retirement checks, two US Senate retirement checks, and a retirement check from the State of Arkansas . About the only thing they MIGHT NOT get is a Social Security check...but I wouldn't bet on it.

I understand ole Bill has earned $40,000,000 in the past six years. What a guy!

AND THE REST OF THE STORY... Hilarious Rotten Clinton, as a New York State Senator, now comes under the 'Congressional Retirement and Staffing Plan,' which means that even if she never gets reelected, she STILL receives her Congressional salary until she dies. (Would it not be nice if all Americans were pension eligible after only 4 years?)

If Bill outlives her, he then inherits HER salary until HE dies. He is already getting his Presidential salary until he dies. If Hillary outlives Bill, she also gets HIS salary until she dies. Guess who pays for that?

It's common knowledge that in order for her to establish NY residency, they purchased a million dollar-plus house in upscale Chappaqua , New York . Makes sense!

They are entitled to Secret Service protection for life. Still makes sense.

Here is where it becomes interesting. Their mortgage payments hover at around $10,000 per month. BUT, an extra residence 'had' to be built within the acreage to house the Secret Service agents.

The Clintons charge the Federal government $10,000 monthly rent for the use of that extra residence, which is about equal to their mortgage payment. This means that we, the taxpayers, are paying the Clinton 's salary, mortgage, transportation, safety and security, as well as the salaries for their 12 man staff -- and, this is all perfectly legal!

As she runs for President, will YOU vote for her?

Yes, I had ENOUGH peace and prosperity during Clinton's term.  Things are going SO much better now...

Let's see...So when Mrs. Clinton wins the presidency, you assume that the NY governor will appoint her husband to fill the seat?  Who said that was going to happen?  So you set up a hypothetical, and then blame him for it?

And, yes, Congress critters get their pension for life.  I'm not happy about that either, but I don't think Mrs. Clinton started that program.  Our tax money will also give Larry "Wide Stance" Craig a pension for life...

Oh, and the bit about charging 'rent' to the Secret Service?  A complete lie, which has been circulating the 'Net for years (http://www.snopes.com/politics/clintons/landlord.asp)

This is all just more Clinton smearing from the right-wing hate machine.  You can't believe everything that circulates the web.  It's always good to check the facts.  Even that quote immediately above (in Challenger6pak's post) was taken out of context, from a speech Hillary made about eliminating Bush's tax cuts for the wealthy.

I will keep my opinions to myself on this topic but I will state a fact, Mopars Rule! Back to cars and topics that bring our C-C.com family together instead of dividing! You shouldn't talk politics or religion with friends.

I don't recall saying anyone here is a right-wing anything, or who anyone should vote for.
The simple fact is that something was posted here which was factually incorrect.   There are a lot of those types of emails circulating right now, and I don't think they have any place here.

Go-fish probably has the best advice anyway...(BTW, that bit in your signature file about '...the clean end' is hilarious)

If you like that how about this written by a guy who autocrosses a 65 Riviera speaking about people who throw 18's on thier stock musclecar expecting it to be a tack star.

 :horse:
I'd go a step further and say that the original post is exactly the kind of one-sided propaganda chock full o misinformation that smacks of conspiratorial planting with the intention to influence a particular political outcome or spread an ideology.   This post is an upsetting attempt to "recruit" some kind of anti-clinton sentiment (of which there is plenty already going around).

The reason it is upsetting, is not so much the content, or that it is mostly lies, but the fact that I have to see it on A CAR ENTHUSIAST WEBSITE!  I have other, better, and more well informed sources for political information, I come here because  I DON'T WANT TO THINK ABOUT THAT STUFF.

My initial response was not aimed to slam non-car related posts, it's just religeous and political threads always go in the same directon. Things like"Post your pic", "Where do you live", "What's your favorite whatever, song, color, etc." is always much friendlier than the turbulent "hot button" topics in the Off Topic forum.
Of course Off Topic means anything.

For the record I am not a fan of HillRod and I think there should be a law, eventually, that has some sort of language that states that immediate family members cannot hold the office of President, Dem or Rep. Of course it is too late for that to happen at this point in time. Some may disagree but that again is just one simpletons opinion.
