$68,000.00 was the hammer price. It was a magazine car and Mopar Nationals award winner.

I would have thought that price was reasonable.
If you can pick up a 71 Hemi 'Cuda custom/resto for mid to high 80s then it seems fair.

Either way, nice looking car.

 I saw it go also. Sitting on the coach it's hard to see the details though. Maybe she's getting old and needs a face lift.

I would say that would be about right.  Although it is an original RT/SE, it was still marketed as a Hemi Recreation, which have lost value over the past couple years.  My guess is the original drivetrain was long gone, so they put the Hemi into it.  If they still had the original motor, it might have sold for more.

I watched this last nite and wondered the same thing.

I thought it went about right.     It was a 440 car with a Hemi in its place.  The shaker said 426, but it was a 472.  In certain circumstances, the 472 hurts the value and I think whan a car is done and marketed like that one, a 426 would have been a better choice. If it was built more as a performance car and marketed as a "fast" car then maybe the extra cubes helps a little.  It was a nice car, don't get me wrong, but there must have been some flaws visible to the naked eye that weren't visible on tv.

When they were auctioning the challenger and talking about it I got the feeling they thought it would bring more money. If I had the extra money I would of paid that for the car easy as I thought it was a good buy with the Hemi under the hood and would be a great addition to share space in the garage with my Cuda and Challenger. To bad they never had the original drive train for the Challenger or it may have brought more money.

My friend just sold his white GTA Mustang for 53K. I think he did alright.
Actually he's a Mopar guy but bought it to fix and flip.

I was disappointed to see the 71 Cuda 383 numbers match , rotisserie resto car go for only 50k.  This thing is the real deal,, then Immediatley behind it was a AAR that wasnt numbers match go for 90k.   Hmmmmmm.
