Need help on tire choice by 2/12/04
« on: February 09, 2004 - 04:50:02 PM »
I have been doing some research on the largest tires you can put in front of a standard 71 Challenger but I am stilll confused. I have new 15/7 classic cragars with 4" backspace and need to know if a 235/60  15 will fit with no modifications, if  not what mods do I need to make. I need to order the tires this thursday so  if someone has done this and it works please let me know. thanks

The last picture in this thread is a little fuzzy but i had the original 15x7 rallye wheels with 235 60 shoes all the way around - never had a problem. Keep in mind though that it was an A66 340 car with the factory 15" rolled fenders. I'll be using the same size wheels and tires on my 73 although with chrome magnums when the time comes. Hope this helps some.
